  1. Also part of the minority.  We hit Penney's or Macy's early in the day.  Then the older daughter goes with the fiancé for his family's Thanksgiving and the younger daughter and I have tacos or lasagna and watch football.  None of us like turkey or stuffing or cranberries.

When I was Christmas help a few years a go at Target I volunteered to work Thanksgiving and was told all those hours were for regular employees - and the manager had a wait-list because she couldn't accommodate everyone wanting hours.

  2. Ordered two gift cards through my bank using my "rewards points".  My oldest daughter and her fiancé are going to NYC next year.  She wants to shop at the Macy's there.

And, I'm still waiting on the husband to give me his DVD list for TV shows.

  3. I was able to use SPREE10 for 10% off each item in my cart.  :)  Score!  This brought me to $49.92 and free shipping is at $50 and they did give me the free shipping.  Awesome!  I got my son a coat he needed and then got some of the shampoo and conditioner I like on sale 50% off plus the 10% off!

Yes, the SPREE10 code worked for me.  Thanks for posting it.  My local JCP is very small so the items I wanted aren't located there but in a mall JCP down the highway.  I'm having the items shipped to my local JCP.

  4. Yea, I like downloading it in case a legal nastygram is received and the ad is yanked.  Also, When I'm out and shopping on Black Friday, I prefer to have the ads local on my phone as cell signals can be hit or miss in enormous shopping melees.

All I did was click on the pdf version, go up to File in the browser and click save as.  I'm using explorer as the browser.

  5. My daughter worked in Rockford IL for a while this summer at the JCP there. Before she left, she had heard that there wouldn't be a black friday ad from them this year, just a % off clearance. We have a small JCP close to the house and its always the first store I hit. I'll be bummed if there isn't a snow globe this year.
  6. I have always purchased before Black Friday, waited for the line to go in and then walked up to customer service with the ad and my receipt. Never had a problem. Don't wait until Wednesday, though. The big items start getting pulled off the shelves before then. Send an email to corporate (I do this every year) and ask about the price adjustment policy concerning BF items. Target will respond that their policy is to adjust the price of any item purchased with in a two week period. If the BF ad says a monitary gift card is included, you won't get that.
  7. I believe it is someone in guest services, I called earlier and had a question about price match and they put a manager on the phone for me. Really easy to deal with!

Was it still available to buy? My daughter came home last night around 5:30 pm and she said that before her lunch all the big item stuff was pulled off the shelves. She said that it was computer driven, meaning a certain percentage had sold too quickly by that time and the team leads were informed to move it out so there would be enough for Friday. She's not looking forward to working on Friday.

  8. Its tradition for my older daughter and I to get in line for the Thanksgiving Kmart sale (after we stop and Krispy Kreme for some "snacks"). This year I'm not going.

    1. I don't want to spend the money or wait in a line.

    2. My YMCA is open 7am to 11am that morning so I plan to be there instead.

Shopping this year just doesn't seem like fun.
