I desperately NEED that netbook from Walmart too. Will save me a lot of headaches on Black Friday. I might actually just be able to shop instead of push through for needed deals....

We have three Acer netbooks with no problems thus far. Two are from last Christmas, one from Mother's day. My daughter has an Acer laptop also from last Christmas and no problems with it either. I have a compaq computer that is about 6 years old and no problems (other than it needs a new battery) with it either. My other daughter's netbook from last Christmas is an Asus - no problems there either. I have plans to buy a netbook for my mom this Christmas and it will most likely be an Acer. I think you will be fine with either.

Cherrytech - I would call and ask - if not I would just return it and rebuy if they will let you. If they don't have anymore you may be out of luck. $60 is a lot though - good luck!

I stayed pretty much on budget, got some great deals and paid in cash. Actually spent less than I anticipated. We had some unexpected things happen, but its fine. I hope the kids are happy.

Jeffersonville had this sale a week or so as well. They were handing out coupons at the door. Great prices even before the additional 20%. Spent WAY too much money...

Not too exciting at my nearest Target today, but I did get a box of six fireplace logs. They burn for 4 hours each and the price was $4.88. Regular price was $19.99.

I went to Walmart the other day to see if they had any of the PS3 bundles left. One was on the shelf. Clerk and I got it out to inspect - and it had been opened - sure enough - no free games and movie. Someone had bought it and taken the extra stuff out and returned...

I think this one only had 512mb RAM. Not as good as recent sales. I am still looking for one for $199. DD didnt tell me she wanted one until after BF.

I have a Cybershot for the purse. Take pretty good pics. Had it for a couple years, almost time to upgrade as the pixels go up ands the prices go down.

Pull the trigger and get one now at what is the best deal at the moment. Then hang on to your receipts just in case. Better to have one than miss out completely and have regret! :)

Do you think this would be a good 1st laptop. I am looking for one to surf the web and play games/movies when traveling? Please advise I am very very computer illeterate. Thanx.
This is a netbook, not a laptop. It's very basic in its capabilities. It does not have a DVD/CD drive, so you cannot watch those types of movies. Mostly designed for portability and web surfing and email.
Probably not a good choice for gaming either. I am sure some of the more technical based people can chime in with spec differences, but this is just the plain language I know.
You are mostly likely better off looking at the WM BF laptop for your needs.

Gosh I hope this is true - they don't have this model on their website currently...
Even though I am hating on target these days, I am seriously considering heading over there today and buying and getting an adjustment tomorrow. I think I will buy the sleeve too, just in case they sell out before I get back to get the adjustment. My daughter and I both want one - badly...

Unless they pull them off the shelves, which I have heard that they have done before...ugh...I hate wondering where to go to actually make sure I "get" the deal I want.

I'm not 100% sure there won't be netbooks, possibly on a secret sale or ad. It's not complete speculation, they've ordered a huge surplus of a no-name brand that they do not carry.
Do you happen to have some additional info on this? Anything is appreciated.
