  1. I agree. This has been my go-to-site for years and I can't believe the lack of posts this year. Oh well, off to DC area stores later this week to try and score. Lots of stores to choose from but I hit a home run in Reston VA last Christmas. :-)
  2. Way late posting here but I stumbled upon 90% off last week in Reston VA. They had tons of leftovers. I scored on the following: wrapping paper, bags, tissue paper, ribbon, red stuffing oreos, white chocolate covered oreos, caramel popcorn, pajamas, lights, and last but not least, that cool teddy bear that I refused to pay $25 for. My patience paid off when I walked out of the store with one after paying $2.50, plus 5% off for using my red card. I should have bought more of the bears to sell later on Craigslist or Ebay. Best score in years!
  3. I noticed that nobody answered. In all but one store in my area, its moving well enough at 70% that I don't think they will have to drop it to 90%. I was reading articles online about how that venture failed and I have to admit that I only saw the first store display a few days ago and that store had just about every item left for sale. Since then, I've seen only a few items in the other store such as the dog bowls, fancy dresses, and furry hats. I'm going to keep looking at this forum and both the Target and Neiman Marcus websites to see if they will dare to drop to 90%.
  4. Target in Bowie MD closest to the beltway (20 minutes from Alexandria VA/NOVA) is 75% off of Christmas, 50% of candy, 0% off the Christmas-wrapped sparkling grape juice that I had in my cart but returned because no discuount.
  5. Subject: RE: Yak Pak Customer Service Dear customer: Thank you for contacting us here at Yak Pak. In reference to your order, we'd like to provide further explanation about the status. Your order, as well as a lot of other web orders, has been delay because of the reason the demand was much higher than anticipated and unfortunately we ran out of WEBS-001. It may become available in the near future. At this moment I will go ahead and cancel your order. The credit card authorization will be release in 3 to 5 working days. It depends on the bank. Once again we are sorry for this inconvenience. 7. One way to get target coupons is from the target website at the following link: http://sites.target.com/site/en/supertarget/page.jsp?title=coupons_specials&ref=sc_iw_l_1_0
  8. In for two even though they are on backorder. I hope that folks return here and tell what they got.
  9. Anybody check out any Washington DC area stores yet today? NOVA stores were 75% yesterday.

    32" lcd tv deals

I bought the Olevia Black 37" LCD HDTV w/ ATSC Tuner Inside Model 237V from newegg.com last year as a Black Friday deal and absolutely love it. Newegg.com customers are good at leaving feedback on their Olevia purchases and they are overwhelmingly positive. I would use these as a reference rather than circuit city manager "hearsay".
  11. Totally agree. The other big money maker is gift cards that folks either lose, don't use, or let expire.
  12. I'm local and I'll be looking for you!
  13. I don't really need anything on BF but as a non-smoker/non-drinker, shopping on BF and trying to score PS3's, Xbox 360's, etc just give me a helluva buzz.
  14. I stopped by the Andrews AFB BX this afternoon and their Sabre products were being pulled out of the box for their Black Friday display. There is a URL on the back of the 42" monitor for the company which is http://sabrece.com. There's no indication who is the real manufacturer but this looks to be the new "electronics house brand" for AAFES. The tag on the back of the monitor also says "Made In Korea".
  15. The Springfield Best Buy is by far the most popular one around. You may want to start waiting right after Thanksgiving dinner. If you want less competition, go up to Baily's Crossroads. The lines are much shorter and the management comes out from time to time to take the names of folks in line and make sure that they stay there. You could start there shortly after midnight.
  16. I didn't read this thread before going to Home Depot to by a few cheap items but I was presently surprised to get 10% off of my measily purchase. Tomorrow, I will buy a lot of items that I was going to buy when my 10% moving coupon came in a few weeks.
  17. Guitars do come in lefty and righty models. This one is for righty's. I have ordered frequently from americanmusical and music123, two .com websites with a reputation for good prices and wide selections. If you find something that you like on music123, ask them a question about it and they will usually send you back an answer with a bonus... a personal quote that is less than their advertised price!
  18. I bought one of these for Christmas the FIRST time that it was posted. It must be the hottest deal out there since it keeps getting reposted to the top of the list. Hopefully, I will have a very happy son on Christmas day.
  19. The link shows that the bundle is still available. However, when you click the "Buy Now" button, you are taken to a page that says that there is nothing in your cart. Also, they cannot deliver by Christmas Eve. Looks like the best options for those that can't find one now are craigslist.org and ebay. They're much easier to find now in stores as well so the prices from these sources are going to be much closer to retail than just a few weeks ago.
  20. Circuit City had them in stock until about 11AM EST today. They listed a bundle consisting of the Premium Xbox, PGR game, Memory Module, and extra wireless controller. However, it let me delete the memory module so that I was really able to order what I wanted, without all of the extras, for $497. The only thing that I had to pay for that I normally would not have was $61.79 for overnight delivery to get it in hand by Christmas. Keep checking http://xbox360tracker.com/ because there are a lot more items available online now that the Christmas delivery deadline has passed for most of the retailers.
  21. I am typing this reply from the line at the Best Buy in Bailey's Crossroads VA. I went to the Springfield BB first at 8PM and the line was aready 50 deep. I stopped by this store and was #19 in line. Good news is that I will get one of the 34 premium systems (plus 2 core). The bad news is that it is about 30 degrees outside.
  22. I totally agree. But without knowing about a site like bensbargains, you could drive yourself crazy by constantly checking the popular web sites to find out when they have systems in stock. I hope people are still paying that much when I get mine. If I get it on Friday, I''l have to sell it by Saturday because the market will be flooded by people auctioning their new Best Buy systems on Sunday.
  23. I was all set to park one of my cars in front of the Best Buy in Springfield VA about 24 hours in advance so that my son and I could take turns in XBOX 360 line but lo and behold, gottadeal.com forums came through again. The link to bensbargains led me to the gamestop's web site where they have a $1000 bundle that is in stock and usually ships in 24 hours. Since only one per customer can be ordered, I got one and so did my son. Mine's going on either ebay or craigslist to defer the cost of the other.
  24. I just got back from Best Buy in Waldorf, MD. The line was around the front of the store at 1AM. The same thing with the three WalMarts in the area. I'm going to follow the lead of a few others in the laptop thread and try to get one of the $375 laptops online instead.
  25. I don't recall seeing the Philips plasma that you are referring to. Philips bought Magnavox in 1974 and the lines between their products are often blurred. You may be speaking of the Magnavox 42" plasma, model 42MF230A/3, that will be sold at Best Buy for $1799 but $1499 after rebate.
