If she has an MP3 she would probably like an itunes card. There are some magazines that she might enjoy too. I like the idea of a pretty silver chain too. Kohls had some pretty one on sale last week and I am sure they will again. The also make some cute pillow speakeers that work with the MP3. Most girls like to shop so she may enjoy a gift card for a favorite store.

Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2007
shopping mom replied to 1angelnhvn's topic in Offline Hot Deals
I am jealous over the tent.(you got a great deal on that) I was waiting for the 75% off but it is gone at 50%. I am hoping to score one of the Greatland tents though but they are still at 50%. School stuff here is still regular price but I did get quite a few stocking stuffers 50% off at the dollar spot. -
DD4 is in a small class and they do exchange names for gifts with an 5-8 dollar limit. We also sign up to bring in some type of food for the party. I think I sent juice boxes in last year. I also made small gift bags for the rest with things I had gotten from the Target Dollar Spot when it was 75% off. The teacher got BBW and a gift card to TAPS to pick out material she wanted.

I work in a small office and have a great boss and co-worker. One loves anything strawberries and one like butterflies. I am having 6 place mats and napkins for each of them made in Bolivia (my dad is there) It will be unique and inexpensive too. (A lady there hand paints them)

Great idea!! I am now even considering getting her one twin and then one of their new baby dolls as well (the baby is 29.99) For those who may think I nuts I am! My other DD19 never played with dolls only her brothers toys we got her purple radio controlled cars and pink soccer balls etc, I am enjoying looking at the girly type stuff.

Will Black Friday Be Different This Year Then In Years Past???
shopping mom replied to bigjimslade's topic in 2007
I have wonder why they disappear after BF I like saving money all year long bf is just the frosting so to speak. -
Last year Target ran some good sales and I think I saw one on clearance there a few days ago, and din't Best Buy or Crcuit city have them for BF last year.
-
I would be surprised to se new items also. However, one year KB Toys did their FP items buy 1 get one free so that could happen again. I think we will see some board games and puzzles, some type of Lego set, some of the older furreals, last year Barbies, I am hoping for a V-smile or a leapster. I would like to see Littlest Pet shop sets with bonus pets, and maybe the ponyville ice cream truck. I would have said easy bake ovens but I think they are still out of stock becuse of the recall. I am sure there will be lots more but I am not sure what the doorbusters will be.

I think I am going to have to get her one. It may mean less presents, but I already have doll furniture put away, and a few outfits for DD. I want at least one matching outfit for them. I need to get some pictures developed so I can pick a good one to send in. How did you decide hair color and skin tone, it seems hard to tell in the book. Any tips for making good selections?

Do yo think they look like your nieces and DD? I think the new baby dolls are cute too, but DD keeps saying "I want a doll that looks like me!" That and a shopping cart are the main things she has asked for.
-
I ordered a catalog and DD 4 has looked at it everyday and is telling me she wants a doll that looks like her. If I order before Oct 7 I can save about 30 or 35 dollars but it still expensive. So, has anyone here gotten these dolls for the DD's or family memebers, is it worth the cost? Does the child play with it? Did you get matching outfits? Does anyone have any better codes or coupons or suggestions. Thanks!!

I went in tonight and saw and bought some deals. Dufflebags 3.98 20"bag, Set of Three decorative round candles $2.98, dises for candles or other decorations $.98 each, I noticed some flashlights are 30% off the Eddie Baur 9 persson tent is 50% off, summer toys are only 30% here, no markdowns on school supplies. Picture frames are 30% off, 6" and &' digital picture frames are 69 and 79 on clearance, so you may want to watch those, a 5.1 megapixal camera with digital and optical zoom is on clearance for around $79. (I am going to watch this one I think DS would like one but he is not the most resposible person in the world so this would be a good starter) Gardening stuff was 50% but the Off products were only 30%. Travel mugs were 30%.Lots of wooden serving dishes and papertowel holders were 30%off too. -

Thanks for sharing I have thought about a luggage set for a graduation gift for DS so if I can find this one I will put it away till then. -
Do these items go on sale at BF or should I be looking for deals now? I have been pricing some of the play sets but I wasn't sure what to do. I am sure someone here can steer me in the right direction.

$5 off $25 when you buy select Hasbro toys at Amazon.com
shopping mom replied to Fishboysmom's topic in Online Hot Deals
The original prices seem high to me, I have been watching the LPS whirl Around Playground. I think Walmart has it for less than $30 with bonus pets and free site to store shipping. Amazon has it marked at $54.99. I am not sure about the smaller items. Can anyone else tell me what they think?? -
Personal Shopping Assistants on Black Friday experiences??
shopping mom replied to DramaQueenLucy's topic in 2007
I would love to do it too but I do not think our Best Buy offers it. Are there any other stores that do it? -
I glad they fixed it, I imagine people were upset, that would be terrible to stand in line all that time and to get skipped, ugh!
-
I would suggest Micheals especially if you can get a coupon to use.

I went this evening and the the clothes and shoes are an extra 40% off the clearance price. I got DD snow boots for $2.40!! For some reason she loves boots and wears them as soon as it gets cold. I actually got a purple pair a pink pair, and one with pricessess that light up. Toys were only the additional 20% off and I did not see anything to get excited about.

Thanksgiving Day I get two papers so I have two sets of ads, one for me and one for the kids. While dinner is cooking I look through them and make sure the kids are looking too. When dinner is over and everyone has finished looking I make my final list my master list has each store I want to go to the time they open, the items to price match etc. I amke sure my debit card, cash, keys etc are ready. I also lay my clothes out so I don't wake DH. If I need DD or someone to go to another store for me I have extra list for them. I do try to get four hours sleep but that doesnt always work. Last year I was in line about 3AM. Oh I always make a thermos of coffee and some ham rolls for later in the morning. The I go and have fun. I love the deals and I don't mind standing in line talking to those around me. I take everything to my moms house and we make sure everything is fairly even and to just enjoy seeing it and knowing how happy the kids will be. Lastly I head home to eat leftovers and get some sleep.

I did most of my shopping on BF last year so I spent over $500 I am sure. I have Christmas Club this year too so I should have around $900 to spend It sounds like a lot but I have 6 kids 2 sets of inlaws, my parents, nieces and nephews. If I can add more I will otherwise I have to stick to the budget (until BF I am going to try to scrimp and buy some stuff so I can do a little more, I really want to get dd 19 the acoustic guitar she wants)

My DD will not go near him.

Layaway ? Best way to get the items I need for the least money??
shopping mom replied to johjstc's topic in 2007
kc4braves, If you think you can find a good deal on these items now you may want to go ahead and purchase them. Make sure you check the return policy just incase you find a better deal later and save your receipts. Some stores like Sears will give you the difference plus 10 % if you buy it from them and find it cheaper somewhere else within a specified time period. I doubt the Wii will come down, they are still hard to find in our area. I have been trying to help my cousin find one for her son and there have been none in B&M stores. Hopefully she got the one from CC online today.
