Anyone have a discount code for American Girl? I haven't had any luck locating one.

My daughter (8) has 5 American Girl dolls, as well as the Bitty Twins. She does play with them. I would rather spend money on those than on a bunch of junky little toys that will end up at the bottom of the toybox. American Girl dolls are keepsakes.

We went there (NYC) in September for our daughter's 8th birthday. We didn't do the "package", we just did the things she wanted to do. We had a nice lunch at the cafe, did the photo session and let her pick out a new doll (Kit) and a couple of outfits. Reading the description of the package, it's pretty funny how they charge you $260 (in NY) and then try to make it sound like they're giving you $130 in "spending money"! That's their way of making sure you spend at least another $130 in the store on top of what the so-called package is worth!

Given the fact that they are currently only available in hardcover, that seems doubtful.

Amazon has them for $10.99 (Eclipse) and $12.64 (Breaking Dawn).

The trick is to put them into your own heavy urns or pots. The containers they come in are too lightweight.
