It won't affect me personally, but I know it will hurt a lot of people in my neighborhood. We don't have any big retail stores here other than Walmart, everything else is about an hour away. I bet there is going to be a pretty good increase in online sales.

Every year no matter what store we are in, my husband and I always wind up helping elderly people carry their stuff to their cars.
Last year at our local sears we were there 20 minutes after we were done shopping just helping people carry their TVs out to their cars, they only had 2 people working in the store, both running the regisiters!
I didn't mind helping them but in the back of my mind I was thinking OMG I am missing a sale at another store!!!

LOL Walmart is the store that I was most disappointed in. Unless the step up their game this year, I won't even bother going to them this year.
There was a recent news story covered on CNBC about Walmart. Apparently there sales have been effected by the price of gasoline. Since most Walmart shoppers are low to mid wage earners they can see the effect the price of gasoline has had on their consumers.
So Walmart said they are planning DRASTIC price reductions for their holiday season, hoping that the huge sales will be enough to bring people back to the stores.
Guess we will just have to wait and see....

I was 7 months pregnant on one BF but I went anyway, the only downside was the killer backache I had and the morning sickness in the car (I am one of the lucky ones who had morning sickness everyday for the whole 9 months), otherwise it was great.

My hubby spends 6 hours a day in the car, and that's all he listens to.
And if you didn't know, when you have sirius you can listen to on your pc right from their website. They also give a free 3 day trial online for anyone that would like to check it out before they buy it.

We love our Sirius, but I bet if you wait you will see an offer for free equiptment.
When we got ours last Nov. we got the hardware free for our car and just paid for the years sub.

Our Sears has only one entrance so that wasn't a problem for me. Our store is small, it's not the full sized sears store, has appliances, tools, tvs, things like that. They only had 2 employees working on BF, both woman were on the registers. There was no one there to help anyone take their stuff out to their cars. So my husband and I carried TVs for the elderly since they didn't have any way to get them out of the store. I also printed out a bunch of the $5 off coupons and handed them out to people. We were there for an extra 30 minutes helping these people. The whole time I was thinking OMG I am burning valuable shopping time!

I got to Sears at 5:30 AM and was first in line, then at about 5:45 there were about 50 people there. Sometimes it's nice living in the middle of nowhere!

Some bonhead from FW called CS, they are not going to honor this, it was a glitch in their website, it is meant for people that buy a HP Printer.
Hopefully those that ordered early enough will still get their DVD players, good luck guys!
