I think you better just ask them where they have seen these and what they are called. You could drive yourself nuts with this one.

I stopped shopping my Kmart because if it is advertised it, it is not available. This past summer I asked for a rain check on a garden supply and when I received the postcard saying it was in stock it was marked item needed to be picked up by a certain date. They gave me 3 days from when it was postmarked to pick up my weed killer and by the day I received it I had to one day left. Didn't pick it up and haven't returned. There are a lot of people in my area that would rather shop Kmart than Walmart which is only 5 minutes in the other direction, but have given up for these same reasons. When they are gone there will be no one wondering why.

Thanks for this post. I had seen a minature one to carry on your keychain that holds pictures and can be changed out as you want. This type of item may be just what I want for my brothers 50th birthday. I was going to get together a collection of pictures from the years and I like this better than a regular album.

Look around your house and see what you can use. Gather all your candles and group them and tie ribbon or sprigs of pine on them. I like to use mirrors behind candles and underneath sparkly decorations. I have an old mirror that was hanging on the wall when I bought the house that I bring out every year to display my Snow Babies on. A bowl of oranges or apples always looks nice too. Even wrapping some boxes and having them seating around will make it look for festive. Use your imagination and you will be surprised at what you can do with what you already have.

Donate money to a charity for them. Lots of charitys sell things from clothing to jewelry with a portion going to there fund. Atleast you could feel good knowing your money will go to a good cause.

I felt the stores were busier during the Veteran day sales. The malls were packed that weekend and it looked like people were really shopping. I also feel the sales were the same except for the doorbusters. We got a late start, 7 instead of 6 but got a perfect parking spot. When we left at 1 there were still plenty of parking spots to be had. It looked to me like most of the people out were looking for a great bargain or just out for awhile but not doing serious shopping.

I returned 5 childrens books to Walmarts. Someone had put the big ugly price sticker right in the middle of the cover of the book. When I tried to remove the sticker it was going to tear up the cover and ruin the looks of the book. At first they told me I could not return books because of the copyright law so I asked to speak to a manager. I explained the problem to him and he agreed with me and that it was not my fault and returned my money. It turned out okay for me but there was a huge display of these books and I am sure I will not be the only unhappy customer.

My local news had a segment but on 2 other black Friday sites. They took the prices to the local Kohls and asked an associate if they were the correct prices and they were. They talked about some toys, luggage and suggested you look the flier over carefully.

Just saw the commercial for this year with the Coke polar bears. Love them and love the penguins in it to. Having the Beach Boys singing their Christmas song makes it perfect. Won't be Christmas without them.

I won't be near a Filenes on Friday but if I still need to do more shopping may go on Saturday so I hope the coupon is good for Saturday too.

A couple years ago they had a great sale on toys. My daughter and I had a lot of fun and got most of the toy shopping done there. We are planning on stopping there again this year.

Penney's had some great sales this past weekend for Veterens day. They had tons of clearance with an extra 40% off. I need to mark my calendar to remember this sale next year. I find when shopping for clothing I can't wait for the BF sales as by then the selections may be hit or miss and not worth it for the small amount I would save. I got a lot of childrens things at 50% with an extra 15% off. I am not sure the BF prices will be much better but on things with a low price point like these another 10% doesn't make that much difference.

Penguins seem to be all over the place this year. I have seen lots of pj's and novelty tees in the malls. Don't forget the DVD for the March of the Penguins is coming out the end of this month. The DVD is on my wish list.

I no longer need to buy the toys and don't buy electronics so for the most part I don't get involved with the rush to get one of few of anything. My daughter and I love the excitement of the day and usually go to Penneys where I buy her some clothes. For us we go early so we can get a decent parking spot so we can stash the bags in the trunk without a major hike through the parking lot. The mall we go to doesn't have a Best Buy or Circuit City so we can get there a few minutes before opening and get a decent spot. I have already done most of my shopping online because they are not the typical things you find on the BF ads.

The semi-annual clearance sale won't start until January and then again in June. I just got a coupon in the mail for a free candle with a $30 purchase but it is not good until the 21st.
