  1. Has anyone called around your local stores to find out how many Playstation 3's they're getting? I've tried numerous stores here in Kokomo, Indiana and everyone is saying they don't know but are expecting around 3. If anyone's got any more information from your local stores, care to fill us in and let us know what city you're from to maybe give us some population comparisons to see where we stand?
  2. What do you mean, retarded? To the contrary! IMO, this 20-year-old has it right. That means he's still getting double presents on Christmas!

:sidesplit:sidesplit:sidesplit I kinda wondered myself when reading that other post if the 20 year old really believes in Santa or if the parents just continue to write that on there to continue family tradition or keep the 7 year old believing.

  3. Dude, next year we'll probably be camping at 8:30 lol. It'll be worth it. Thank God that damn Starbucks is open 24 hours. If it wasn't we would of been really screwed. I got frostbit on my nose and on part of a finger. OH well it'll be gone in a few days/weeks, however long it lasts. Next year, some kind of heater and a lawn chairs. Did you see Menards when you drove by? They were parked in the freaking grass, and thats a big flippin parking lot. Wonder what they had on sale that attracted so many people?

Damn dude...that sucks. I can't believe you got frost bit, lol. I got a touch of it on my hand but apparently it goes away fairly quickly. Mine's faded out noticeably already. I didn't pay attention to Menard's though. And yeah, I agree, we're havin' heater/chairs/and other stuff next year.

  4. I hate people who go and get the deals and sell the stuff for double, triple (sometimes even more) than what they paid, when there was people waiting for hours to get an item.

The simple fact is as I've pointed out in another thread, there is absolutely nothing wrong with buying simply to resell. Before I explain my logic, I will freely admit that I did it. My sole intention was to resell and I bought NOTHING that I am keeping/giving as a gift. I got 2 eMachines (3 now, a friend gave me his for $150 cuz he didn't wanna put up with EBay) an MP3 player and a flash drive.

Now I got in line at 9:30 PM on Thanksgiving night because I knew that, for me, I was willing to wait 7 1/2 hours in order to turn a profit of 500 bucks or so. I could just as easily gotten in line at the same time because I was determined to get them and give them to family members. I could also have gotten in line at that time to show that I hate eMachines. I could've bought the computers, ran outside with them, taken a sledgehammer and smashed them to pieces in the parking lot as a form of protest. The simple fact remains, I got one, you didn't. Whether I choose to use mine as a gift, an investment, a personal computer or chop it up and flush it down the toilet, the fact remains that I was there first and wanted to buy it.

Why is it wrong to buy something on sale and then put it on EBay? The computer regularly retails at $450 + tax. If it sells for $400 on EBay, I am making money for the time I spent freezing my rear off and the buyer is saving $50 off of the price he'd get if he walked into the store right now to buy it. For me, I have no sympathy for people not getting these types of doorbuster items from places that hand out tickets. If it was Wal-Mart...I'd be a little more sympathetic but Best Buy and many others were simply this, who was willing to deal with being uncomfortable and bored for a long enough amount of time. This year...it was me.

Next year, perhaps everyone who missed out will learn from people like me and get in line earlier.

    -----------------------------------------------

That being said, if the resale value is as good next year as it was this year, I'll be in line at 6 or 7 PM so plan ahead fellow Hoosiers.

  5. Yeah, mooning was the stupidest thing I saw but WOW...people around here must think it's the thing to do. As I've said before, my friends and I were first in line. Not 20 minutes after we got there, a van drove by and a girl's rear was sticking out the window (can't complain there I suppose). However, we were literally mooned EIGHT times by different people in the first hour.

Side note: My friends and I were responsible for some of the stupid moments as we had an air-horn, megaphone and glowsticks. Just stuff to lighten the mood and it seemed to work.

  6. That video doesn't show the full scene and the closeup of the woman while she's being "trampled" however that is the woman that laid on the ground and put her wig back on before attempting to move out of the way. I'm not trying to justify the actions of the other people but seriously...you have to have your priorities. Personally...I'd be more worried about getting off the floor than putting my fake hair back on.

  7. I talked to several people in almost all the lines I stood in!! It was fun while at Walmart waiting at the Pallet for the CP dolls!! We all had a game plan on how we were gonna get the dolls. I even made sure the people in the back got a couple. I got what I wanted and left.

I'm HOPING you let the people in the front get theirs first...if not...that's the kind of thing that will start fights.

  8. Some of that stuff is insane...Neither I nor any friends of mine had any problems at all on BF. That could be because we're all 18-21 and over 6 ft. tall but man...some of that stuff would have me swinging. If I ever get bitten, the idiot that did it will be biting with his gums next year.
  9. This is why I went to best buy at 10am instead of 2am...all I wanted was a Playstation 2 and a few games and accessories and that 20 inch tv for my grandmother. Because I picked up a memory chip as well, I was able to check out at the geek squad area at customer service. Dispite waiting over 20 mins to help me check out, I was in and out of that store within an hour..poor saps still in the 2 hr line hehehe :)

Anyways local news camera crew caught a stampeed on tape and a women being trampled and NO ONE was helping her get up. She was later shown being taken into an ambulence. I can see the look in her face as I know she will be filing a lawsuit against the store and those people who trampled her.

NOTHING, AND I DO MEAN NOTHING NO MATTER HOW GOOD THE DEAL LOOKS IS WORTH YOUR HEALTH OR LIFE!!! Just let the monkey's run and kill themselves, just get low priority items after the crazyness has past and you will be safe.

I saw that same exact piece of video footage. I must say however, that I didn't feel very much sympathy for the one particular woman you are talking about for the sheer fact that she NEVER tried to get up. Her wig came off and she was laying on the ground discretely trying to put it back on. COME ON!!! Be smarter than that...could she not withstand a couple moments of embarrassment to save herself from trampling injuries? She was far more concerned with getting that wig back on her head than getting herself out of danger.

  10. Actually, two of the the guys in the first group of people SAID they were going to make a killing on eBay, and a third was a Navy guy who said he was picking up some extra money by sitting there and saving someone's spot because they guy was going to make a lot of money on auction. The group was obviously together, so you're right, I *did* assume all 20 of them were eBayers. I think it's a valid assumption.

To show up earlier wouldn't have made a difference. You couldn't line up until 2 am, and it would only have taken one of the group to save spots for the others.

Capitalism my friend. If someone wanted to purchase one of everything simply to take it into the parking lot and smash it in a display of protest...oh well. If he was first, he can do whatever he wants with it. The idea is buy for little sell for more. These "Ebay squatters" were in line fair and square.
