  1. I've never actually added everything up. I try to get them what they want, but I have my limits there too, Like I will not buy any new game systems when they come out when they will be 1/2 the price the next Christmas, so they don't even ask! I will not buy the newly released PS2 games either, I refuse to pay $50 for them, when they'll be $25 in 6 months, if they want the newly released games the buy them with their own money! I always base mine on number of gifts, usually about 20 or 30 each, I always make it even for both.
  2. Hobby Lobby always has a huge selection of anything for Christmas!
  3. Oh my....now I have to make a decision....do I dip into my Black Friday savings to get this for DS? LOL! Thanks for posting this!
  4. Wow thanks, and the idea of putting them in the treat bags too! I will have to check mine to see about this!
  5. I sat last night thinking about where I will put the tree this year...want somewhere different. It's gonna be my 1st and only time having my family here for Christmas...I'm soooo excited!!!
  6. Ohhh thanks....*scribbling all down* I'll post some as soon as I find my recipes:confused:
  7. I've never done them myself, but I know when receiving them I personally prefer to get a card with the picture in it, only because I have a hanger for my cards, and I don't like hangin the picture cards. When they're are seperate I can hang the card, and put the picture in an album :)
  8. I agree with the bowl idea. Find some cheap ceramic bowls in the size you need, and then go to a craft store and get a plain box in the size you need, and decorate the box with whatever.
  9. I have $200 saved back so far, will have more at the end of October though.
  10. I never realized how many people went there on BF just to put the stuff on layaway, til last year I actually saw the layaway line for myself! Holy Cow, it was long!!
  11. Oh geesh! After re-reading that post, and seeing where you are supposed to stick them to the inside of your shoe....I now know why my feet were burnin....I stuck them on the inside of my socks..whadda maroon I am:gdblush:
  12. I wore those once to a FB game, and my feet started burnin! I had to take my boots off and take them off...I tried to keep them on as long as I could, but I finally couldn't take it anymore LOL!
  13. I guess I must be lucky....I have never experienced anything like that, or witnessed it! We always have the line cutters of course. One year when we still had an Ames store, my sister and I waited in line for quite some time, they were giving away so many scratch off tickets for a certain percentage off your order, and there would be 1 50% off one per store! Well, when they opened the doors, these 2 young girls came running up from their car and cut in front of everyone that had waited in line, I of course tried to shove them back and cut them off, but was unsuccessful, well we got in scratched off our tickets...and my sister got the 1 50% off ticket....had I succeeded in shoving those girls back, and blocking them, she wouldn't have gotten it..so it made me feel a lot better LOL!
  14. Good idea! I have always used the hot hands, but discovered the one where you can put on the bottom of your back. We go to a lot of football games, so I got one for my back, and it really kept me warm :) May have to try the thermal wraps this year, they sound like they may be a bit cheaper than the hot hands.
  15. I bake a lot for different people. Here's one thing that I have found people LOVE and it's quite easy to make Take Town House crackers....2 of them, and spread peanut butter in between them, make a sandwich, then you dip it in your baking chocolate...delish!! I go and get baking chocolate from the amish, and make the crackers and choc covered pretzels, they're both so easy:yup:
  16. Sure! I'd love to! I do wrapping for a lot of people, and now have some who are going to actually pay me to do their shopping and wrapping.....ahhh, makin money off of somethin you love....priceless!!
  17. I love Wrapping stuff!!! I have a new obsession, I started about 3 years ago going out the day after Christmas and buying all things Christmas wrap. I love to go to Joanne fabrics, they have the best stuff, and it's always discounted A LOT! In my basement with my decorations, there are suddenly 3 huge rubbermaid totes FULL of wrap, boxes, gift bags, ribbon, bows, gift tags, and boxes of Christmas cards! I have really built up quite the collection LOL!!! But it's so nice to have it, and not have to worry about that expense on top of the other stuff!
  18. Usually by Dec. 8th. My kids have a contest ran by our little post office, to bring as many cards as they can to mail. Each class has a tally of which one brought the most, and they win a pizza party or something! The PO does it to promote getting your holiday mail out early. Last year my oldest sons class won, it doesn't hurt that their 1 grandma sends out about 300 cards:eyepoppin
  19. My oldest who's 10...I have gotten so far A new baseball bat, a flag football set, a locker shelf, a couple Cleveland Indians shirts, and some dirt bike toys. My 9 yr old....I have gotten A Carson Palmer jersey, and Chad Johnson jersey (found these at TJ Maxx for $25 a piece, originally $55) and a new baseball bat. My boys both love baseball, and we found $100 bats at Kmart on clearance for $45...Yay!!
  20. Well I never buy any big items on BF, but my best or maybe it was just my favorite..was last year, Bath and Body Works, Wallflowers for $5!! The starter kits, and the refills!
  21. Another Ohioan....even though I'm not near Cleveland, with my satellite Cleveland is my local channel's!
  22. No credit card here either, actually I've NEVER had one.
  23. Oh, and I wrap the last possible week my kids are in school before Christmas break...if I do it any sooner, I forget what I got:cheesy:
  24. I actually do Christmas shopping an wrapping for people, I started with a relative who asked me, and from there it's been word of mouth. I also do cleaning, so I'm getting ready to advertise in the paper, that I will do cleaning, and that I'm also available for Christmas shopping and wrapping, and errands. Just run an ad!
