I think that celery is grown by a farmer named Ron.
  3. Back from TRU. Surprised when I got there at 11:45 I was only the 10th in line! However, three stores down at Gamestop, there were probably 60 in line. Made me wonder what kind of deal they had. (I can barely resist a line for fear of a better deal! LOL!!) I bought Black Ops and Spiderman Shattered Dimensions (my DS 10 is a Spidey fanatic) and got a $50 gc + the free t-shirt! I had a coupon for a $10 gc when you spend $75 but it did exclude video games, so the one mentioned earlier in this thread must be different from mine.

    Black Friday T-Shirts?

Oh my gosh!! I just read your post about shipping the shirts out and I got so excited I ran dressed in my pajamas in the pouring rain to my mailbox!! Unfortunately, no shirt for me yet. Maybe tomorrow.
  5. Found this today at Target, marked as "Temporary Price Cut", reg. $34.99, now $17.49. This is the same one listed in the WM Toy book for $34.97. Get it now for 1/2 price! Ok, just now looked at the Target Toy Book and saw this is one of the deals starting 11/3 but it is available now. (Also available online, but shipping shows $7+.) http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51Hu5yPWwuL._AA260_.jpg http://www.target.com/Hot-Wheels-Color-Shifters-Bones/dp/B00383NPVW/ref=huc_sfl_it_1_pn
  6. The best thing is that Amazon includes DS games whereas Target is limited to PS3, Wii, and XBOX 360. Offering free shipping also!
  7. Of course I would dress up as the Fire Marshall and make everyone immediately exit the stores when I arrived so that I could shop without the crowd!!
  8. TRU today's sale ad it is $69.99. Not as good as the Oct. deal, but better than $90!
  9. Saw several yesterday at Target, price was $34 or $34.99. This set also had the bonus figures. Edit: 12/20 Target here had 6 on the shelf for $34.
  10. Santa has always been very accommodating for our family when logistically we were unable to have Christmas on the 25th. As a nurse, I have to work on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day every couple of years. My kids don't want to give up on going to bed at their own house with the anticipation of Santa delivering presents. I just call the Santa hotline and leave a message on the answering machine concerning the date that we would like to have Christmas. He finds a way to make a special delivery for us on that day. The kids have never minded because the tradition remains intact. We do all the usual Christmas Eve activities even though it might be on the 28th. The next morning when they wake up Santa has made his delivery. They are always delighted and probably don't really remember what the date is!!
  11. Thanks so much for all your ideas. I really would like to have them all hanging. With so many, it really has a dramatic effect. My daughter will not graduate from basic until after Christmas so she won't be home. Her enlistment is four 4 years, so it may be a while before she can actually be home for the holidays. My college son and his girlfriend will be here to open presents with us Christmas night. I have decided to get her a stocking too! I think I will start a tradition where Santa fills everyone's stockings whether or not they are home at Christmas. This will of course include any future significant others/grandchildren. Then, I can just mail the contents of the stocking to them along with their presents from us but keep the stocking here. Santa just won't be bringing any other gifts like he does for the younger ones still at home. I hope this will meet with everyone's approval. I'm sure if the kids had their way, Santa would still come and leave lots of gifts, but the reality is you have to grow up and start a life of your own and start your own traditions with your new family.
  12. This will be our first Christmas since our two oldest kids moved out. Our son (21) is a junior in College and is sharing a house with friends near our home. Our daughter (19) is in basic training (Navy). We have 9 kids total in our blended family. His 4, my 4, and 1 together. We all have matching stockings from Pottery Barn. My question is what should we do since those 2 don't live with us anymore. Should I give them their stockings or just keep them here and hang with the rest? Santa still comes to see any child (no matter the age) still living at home. Therefore, he would not fill the stockings for those not here. I don't want to hurt their feelings by not hanging them or having them hanging empty. Please share your tradition concerning this. I need suggestions please. Thanks in advance.
  13. Go to Target's weekly ad on their website. There are six additional pages for the 2-day sale that are not in the print ad. There are more TV's for those not wanting the Westinghouse. www.target.com

  17. Hilarious yet true story: Our spare bedroom closet was my mom's hiding place. It was my fourth Christmas. My mom told me to stay out of the bedroom. I couldn't help but wonder why she would have told me that. It had never been off limits before. Of course I had to check it out! So, two weeks before Christmas I went in there in the middle of the night. Lo and behold I found a brand new tricycle, a tea set, a baby doll, and some other great things!! My mom awoke to me riding down the hall on my tricycle!! I had opened the tea set and stripped all the clothes off the baby doll. She was extremely upset with me. I still remember the look of horror on her face. She scolded me for being nosey and said Santa would be very disappointed in me. The next day everything was gone from the bedroom. A few days later she called me to the phone. A man who said he was Santa said that if I was good, I might get my toys back next Spring! Of course at my age I didn't know what that meant. My mom told me this story when I was older. She unfortunately got a neighbor who was known to drink to much to call me. After that, she had to get more creative with the logistics of hiding. I don't remember the phone call, but I sure do remember how much fun I had riding that tricycle in the middle of the night!! Don't worry so much about them. They will be so happy that morning when they actually get the items they want. It won't really matter if Mom & Dad helped Santa or if the presents come from you. As a mom I do understand your disappointment though. Whatever you decide to do, just be careful not to get the town drunk to call them. LOL!!!
  18. Photo #1: *Lady behind the carts> "Could you please pack faster? We still have 12 more stores before noon?!?" *Friend at the car> " I told you we would never get it all in your VW Bug!!!" Photo #2: "If I just rearrange a few things I will not have to be seen with this pink striped VS bag, especially since that rumor was started about me cross-dressing!!!" Photo #3: "Just keep your eyes closed Louise, the mall rent-a-cops will think we are mannequins and we will be able to be first in line. Only 16 hours til Black Friday officially begins!! Shhhhhh......I think I hear one coming......be very, very, still.
  19. It takes the $15 off the sale price, then the 50% off, then shipping is $1.99. You must add to your cart to see all the discounts.
  20. How do you order the items that are listed "available Nov. 21st after 10pm"?
  21. Do most of you recommend the service plan? This will be my first large electronics purchase.
  22. I keep getting a message stating that inventory cannot be checked, choose another option. I have tried 2 different states, several zip codes from each, and keep getting the same message. I just wonder if anyone can give me a zip code that will work. If I can print the order page, I can price-match.
