  1. Yes! Definitely miss the old black Friday Friday's. I get most of my shopping done online now but a few of us diehards still go out Friday morning and hit some stores. I tag along for the camaraderie, the pressure is pretty much off so I just enjoy being in the moment and running the stores with family. I'm sure eventually I will stop going out.
  2. I have been frustrated with the coupons the past year, it's like the one Penney's used to send out. Here's $20 you can't use on anything. They have omited so many items, yes popular items that they used to take. I guess they were losing money
  3. Who has the best deals on these right now? Please and Thank you!
  4. Giant Ginger Cookies (bhg receipe) I make these every Christmas and they are outstanding. Great flavor and they bake up great! You won't be disappointed. Giant Ginger Cookies 4 ½ cups all-purpose flour 4 teaspoons ground ginger 2 teaspoons baking soda 1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon 1teaspoon ground cloves ¼ teaspoon salt 1 1/2cups shortening 2cups granulated sugar 2 eggs ½ cup molasses ¾ cup coarse sugar or granulated sugar Directions 1. In a medium mixing bowl stir together flour, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, and salt; set aside. 2. In a large mixing bowl beat shortening with an electric mixer on low speed for 30 seconds to soften. Gradually add the 2 cups granulated sugar. Beat until combined, scraping sides of bowl occasionally. Beat in eggs and molasses. Beat in as much of the flour mixture as you can with the mixer. Using a wooden spoon, stir in any remaining flour mixture. 3. Shape dough into 2-inch balls using 1/4 cup dough. Roll balls in the 3/4 cup coarse or granulated sugar. Place about 2-1/2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. 4. Bake in a 350 degree F oven for 12 to 14 minutes or until cookies are light brown and puffed. (Do not overbake or cookies will not be chewy.) Cool on cookie sheet for 2 minutes. Transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool. Store in a tightly covered container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months. Makes twenty-five (25) 4-inch cookies. http://images.meredith.com/content/dam/bhg/Images/recipe/35/R031285.jpg.rendition.largest.jpg
  5. Looking for a drop in stove/oven combo (or a slide in with controls on the front). Have not seen anything for under a $1000. I am currently all electric (pun?) lol. Will consider gas . . .We've done some cosmetic upgrades to our kitchen and the 20 year old almond stove top just doesn't cut it.
  6. I have been looking for deals on the iTune cards but haven't seen anything, also not finding the skull candy ear buds for $5 either
  7. I got them at Office Max, I thought it was a great deal!
  8. http://www.nbcnews.com/business/wal-mart-offers-its-earliest-black-friday-ever-1C6929092?ocid=msnhp&pos=6 Hope this works, good article on getting what you stand in line for . . .
  9. Worked for me today! Got three pair of shoes for my wide feet for under $40, I will pick them up at the store since there is one right down the road from where I work. Thanks!
  10. I got that one too. I didn't click on anything. I just went to Amazon and checked my order history and it wasn't there so I knew it was a load of doggy doo.
  11. Mine is on it's way, it said shipping would be 7 - 10 days..
