It is pretty common knowledge that there aren't a lot of deals on Apple products over the holidays. I don't think any real deals on them have been leaked yet.

I recommend LibreOffice. The development is more active than OpenOffice that it was split from.

Good question. Is there a specific need for Windows? I don't like them as much unless you are going to go all out and get a Surface. But those come at a premium.

I'm really thinking of getting a Chromebook this year if the prices are right for a decent model.
