  1. OKAY...I have a couple questions about netbooks....I have 3 boys ages 15, 11, and 8. My older 2 use my laptop for Itunes, facebook (15-year-old), and to play a couple games. I think one is an online game and the other is loaded on my laptop. I was thinking about getting them Dell netbooks for Christmas (I don't want to hear any nasty comments about Dell...I love Dell and am getting a Dell). We get a discount at Dell because my husband works for P&G. My question is, can they do all of these things on a netbook? Not heavy gaming, just a couple, and mainly surfing and Itunes. Some youtube for videos. I doubt they would watch movies on them because we have a DVD player in our van for travel. I just need some advice from somebody who knows more than I do!!! Thanks!!

Depends on which games they play. A lot of the on line games now need a dual core and at least 2.10 giga hertz processor.

  2. Wow! I can't believe the people buying their kids a notebook! Seriously, you all need to look at the user reviews for them before buying one. They break VERY easily. Buy a used desktop or upgrade and old computer for the kids if it is just for Farmville umm I mean facebook:)... Or you could give me $100 and I will let them use my laptop for 2 weeks because from the user reviews that is about how long they will last an 8 year old.
  3. I have been looking at the Japanese plastic dishes that were on an endcap for a very long time and they finally went on sale:) I need to go to another target to finish getting enough of the soup bowls since I only got 5 and need at least another 5. We have Japanese new year here every year and have at least 2 groups of 10 people eating at different times..

I got a shabby Chic Duvette king size for $24... Thanks everyone! It is pretty mint green with pink roses.

  4. I have a 16 year old that has both game systems. He only plays Halo on his xbox 360. So if your kids are loners that likes playing games with others over the internet or you want him to be one, then get the xbox 360. If you like having kids over your house laughing and having fun while playing a 4 player game then get the Wii. Shoot my 78 year old mother was here for thanksgiving and can barely figure out how to answer a cordless phone but had a BLAST playing the Wii. She laughed so hard she almost wet her pants and wanted to buy one for herself! The Wiiis are more of a family game where everyone an play. I haven't played a non PC game in YEARS and I love the Wii:)

  5. Well I am home with my 2 Wii's YES!!!! It was a lot different standing in line for 3 hours to get a Wii verses 28 hours for a PS3 that I didn't even get! So I put all my money back in the bank (had Cash) and wouldn't you know it the manager came up to me and told me " I knew you stood in line and didn't get a ps3 and we have a 20 gig in the back if you want it. I had to turn it down because Radio shack charged me for the 2 wii's I didn't get and canceled so I didn't have enough money:((((

  6. Just curious. I am still on the fence on the Wii. Is this something that if I decide in December I want to go ahead and get my kids will I still be able to get it? Trying to debate if I need to go get in line again or not i guess is what I am saying.

There will be plenty of them but it is not as if it is going to be super easy to get them. You will have to call around after the launch to find out wha stores will have them and get to the store early because I am sure that as soon as they get on the shelves they will fly off for the next few weeks.

  7. suburbs of Detroit Michigan:

    45 high

    31 low

We are due for another record high though...

    70 in 1932

    10 in 1972

I can always hope right? If you look at the record highs you can tell that about every 60-80 years or so a record is broken so I am keeping my fingers crossed for a record HIGH not low. Last year we came a few degrees away from breaking the record.
