My local Walmart has also stopped price matching. But not completely - they will still price match with a single website: walmart.com. The procedure is that the shopper has to go to a regular register and tell the cashier of the price match. Then the cashier calls the CSM over who then has to call up the product on his or her own device (typically a smartphone) and then approve the price change. I have already done this a few times, on different days, so I know the 'system' works.
