  1. This being our first camp out I thought it went pretty well. My hubby, neighbor and myself all in line by 12:30 in the afternoon. We were 3rd in Line. The mall security and the police drove by all day and night making sure there were no problems. There were some people showing up right at the last minute expecting to get a $250 laptop but the Best Buy staff did a great job organizing the line and keeping it orderly. They brought us Donuts and then several staff came out with a manager and each staff member had a different doorbuster item. They started with the first guy in line and went back without much incident. There was a bit of a problem when one guy let in a bunch of his friends not much earlier than closing time. The people behind him were not very happy.

We got everything we went for. $250 laptop, e-machines desktop (neighbor got one of those also), bluetooth wireless and a camera. We were out of the store by 6am.

    Great experience.

After hearing all the nightmares about other Best Buys I have to give kudos to the Frisco, TX Store for being on the ball.

  2. Waited in line at BB for 15hours. Thats right at 12 noon. We were not the first in line. Got everything we came for. The BB buy we went to was great. The staff was organized. There were no real line ups except for cameras. Got the laptop, and desktop with no line-ups. Paid for them where we picked them up and left. Was a terrific experience.
  3. I agree with you Stationchief. Considering we already have Vonage. I really like the no rebates at BB. After a careful look at the CC ad the desktop has $290.00 in Mail-in rebates to get the $199 price and you do not get an LCD monitor for that, just a flat screen. I know the 15" montior at BB is small but at least it is an LCD and the PC is $10 less than CC and no rebates.
  4. The last couple of years they have here in Texas. If I remember correctly they had a great deal on a CHI or Wigo hair straighener last year.
  5. If you go the Sat after BF there should not be too much of a shortage of items. The doorbusters will be long gone. I would also guess CD's and DVD's and perhaps some video game will be in short supply but all in all you will not find the stores empty. Seeing as some sales last BF and the Sat. You would probably still get alot of good deals on that Sat that would not be happening this weekend.
  6. You are going to find better deals in the US vs Canada even if you go this weekend. No, you won't get those fabulous doorbusters that happen a week from now. Having come here from Canada 6 years ago and traveling back at least twice a year I have come to learn a couple of things. First your taxes will be 1/2 what you would pay. Second there is a much larger selection of items such as clothes, etc. I can tell you for sure that on large ticket items you will notice a large difference. For instance we bought a Burberry handbag for $550 here regular price. That same handbag in Canada was over $800 plus 15%. Even with the exchange there is no competing. Not sure where you will be headed to shop but I bet if you are going to the Niagara Outlet shops in Niagara NY and then off to the Galleria Mall in Buffalo then you will definately get some deals. Alot of the major department stores Macy's, Lord & Taylor will definately be having sales this weekend.
  7. we arrived last year at Fry's around 5:00am. The line was already around the building. We had gone for the 5.0meg Olympus digital camera. At 6:am they started letting people in. It was total chaos. They had no security and people just started rushing the door. No control whatsoever. I can tell you they let us in and then we went to the camera area. We were then put in 3 lines. One for the Olympus, one for the HP 2.0 meg for $49.00 and one for the digital camcorder they had for $149.00. What a mistake. We waited for awhile then my husband decided to leave the line while I waited. He noticed that at the back of the store the wharehouse doors were open and there were a couple of guys handing stuff out. He realized that one of the items was the camera we were wanting to buy. He grabbed one. This was no where near the line where they had us wait and the guy told him it was the last one. He called me on my cell phone to tell me he had the camera. I left the line not saying a word. People were getting impatient and no employees were anywhere. This was the most unorganized place I have ever been on after 4 years of BF shopping. We were happy to get what we wanted and they definately had great prices but it was completely full contact shopping! I was actually nervous being there. I would rather camp out all night at BB than go through that again.
