Anyone know the toiletries, toothpaste, shampoo, sunscreen, razor type stuff markdown day? Watching some stuff thats at 50 Will jump on when 70 Perimeter perusing since the Gator Pam days

Found some deals. But it was scattershot. Various stores were varied in what they had marked down and by how much. Found things at 70. Seems the big 'mark everything down to 70 off' day is no longer a thing. It looks a slow gradual burn that is store dependent these days. Perimeter perusing since the Gator Pam days

I lurked, lurked hard back in the day. There was always great chatter and speculation about toy markdown day. This week, next week. Wed or Thurs. We'll see what tomorrow brings. I suspect we'll find stores marking down during the day. Well managed stores might the night before. But those are fewer and fewer Perimeter perusing since the Gator Pam days

Seriously! I learned so much about perimeter perusing...I thought I knew plenty. Nope. I still have premium napkins and aluminum foil from learning about holiday clearance items and how they get marked down in system but not necessarily on the floors. Dunno why...but Gator Pam as a valued resource always stuck with me. Miss those verbose, chock full of good info forums Perimeter perusing since the Gator Pam days

Store that is usually slow in toy markdowns is following suit. Items consolidated to one aisle. Most marked 30 Few items at 50. Found Batman Lego set at 50. Hopeful thurs is 70 day Perimeter perusing since the Gator Pam days

Yeah, calling is just never an option for legit accurate results. You gotta lay your eyes on the seasonal section. Even scan an item or two. The varied seemingly store dependent timeline of when to mark down can make it tricky to gauge when to go. But when you time it right, hit 90 the day it happens. Or find a store that 75'd ALL toys the night before clearance Thursday...it is (was anyway) a lot of fun. Now, I suspect markdown thurs will require finding/asking someone with scanner to price check. Some employees are nice about it, others not so much. The mantra of this game is: Ymmv Good luck. Toys were found to be a mixed bag. Various Stores and Various make downs. Items found 70 at one were still 50 at others. Don't suspect this week to be the big markdown but perhaps. Didn't see the shear numbers of toys needing to go either...buyers have gotten better in the past few years it would seem. Still, we'll see what the markdown day brings.

From my experience Legos never go 70 and they don't stick around for long. If you see them at 30 you should grab them. 50 you definitely grab them! Sent from my SM-G925P using GottaDeal mobile app

I doubt this Thurs, and I wonder about next Thurs as it is a bit early this year given how the calendar falls. There is a lack of posts and hope it picks up so we can gauge what others are seeing regarding the big Toy markdown. Targets just-in-time inventory has really changed the game over the years.

Wed might be 'normal' through out the rest of the year but toy clearance after xmas has trended towards thurs. But with a run up of clearance from 30 to 50. I haven't been out much and there is so little chatter in here.

Awesome! Nothing like tracking down some item you've been chasing at 90%. Congrats Anyone monitoring toys? any speculation as to when they go 70? I haven't been out enough to watch the 'run-up' to getting toys organized to one aisle and ready for markdowns. I do miss the days of over ordering that took place years ago, where the toy clearance ran 2-3 aisles deep. Good times Good luck perusing

That is what I saw, 1 day after 31st. 50 off decos, costumes, misc 30 off candy/food. Anyone comment on history of halloween markdowns.

What is the history on Halloween Mark downs? I seen to think the 'stuff' gets 30/50 and then 70 soon after the 31st but candy has a slower schedule. Interested in tracking down some 'stuff' at 70 this year but I'm not as well versed in the scheme for Halloween

That is my take as well. They have gotten smarter about quantity of product to order it seems. So the 'hunt' is a little harder.

Not the mass markdown day all at once like a few years back, but still most went to 70. Hit multiple stores, Very interesting to see how that varied selection of items is each year. While they all have a good bit of the same items with the markdowns, found some great buys at one store the were still full price at others. I find that quite odd but such as it is with Target perimeter perusing. 1st store was a war zone aisle, those are always fun. It was chocked full but not organized at all, and NOT marked down. Was a bit bummed thinking it would be later or the following week but saw another customer talking with clerk near price checker and she was get the clerk to scan and secure the new discount price. So it was markdown day, just this store was nowhere near ready. I seem to recall the early (GatorPam) days it was like an event, the stores made a thing out of having it all marked down one day from them next, that on say Tues items were 30 (or 50 in some stores) and then on Wed at opening everything was 70...I may be embellishing the memory a bit. Anyway, now it seems to be a slow burn of sorts. Other stores hit were marked down. Some VERY well organized, some with very small Clearance aisle. I also scouted a 3 on Fri and actually found yet even more different items. One store that had a clearance aisle that was practically non existent....if that were the only store you ever saw you'd think the perimeter perusing a farce. All in all a very good year. But I do miss the 'action' here in the forum only two pages of discussion so far....

I am thinking so. There is a very quiet sense around here though. I kinda miss all the speculation and input from everyone about what may take place. That some places would have gone today - a Wed while most should go tomorrow. It will interesting to see but I doubt it will be anything like years past. Good Luck.

Long time stalker as well. I hit 6+1 yesterday (+1 was return to early AM store in late afternoon) The items I found at 70 were not marked down yesterday. That it was not the big mark down day. The items were already at 70. So perhaps next week. I too saw a major difference in availability of items and current price reductions. Perhaps a change in Target clearance strategy on corporate part, or more so individual stores have a bit more autonomy then in the past. I do wonder those that 'went 70', did the stores truly go and Mark everything 70 percent off? I saw NO Mark down team activity in any stores. Not like last year where it took place the day of (vs off hours)
