  1. you guys are going to hate me for this... but buying it beforehand and pricematching it worked like a charm! I went to the best buy in Mesa, AZ around 3:30am and there were easilly over a thousand people in line!!! I drove to another one that had like half that. For some reason that Best Buy is always completely out of control!!! This was the one thing I really really wanted! It's a nice monitor too! There's a lot of bleed through around the edges but everything else is more than I could ever ask for! Good color representation. No dead pixels out of box. Good response time, no noticeable ghosting. I love this damn thing!! :)
  2. I bought the Westinghouse 22in monitor today in hopes that they'll pricematch the monitor or allow me to do a return/rebuy on Saturday. I have about 5 bestbuys in a 10 mile radius. I'm hoping like hell one of them will let me get away with this. It's not a doorbuster item so hopefully they'll let me get away with this one. Otherwise I'm returning it.
  3. ok well I think I'm going to go purchase this one today. And shoot for other monitors on Black Friday as if I won't be keeping it. Lining up for 10 hours by myself sounds too painful. I'd totally do it if I had buddies hanging out with me otherwise.
  4. I've showed up at a little after 4am in Mesa, AZ two years ago and there were several hundred people in line. I'm guessing most trickled in a couple hours before me. I thought being in the first 100-150 would be enough for this monitor but I think I misgauged the popularity of this item! One other approach I'm considering is driving 30 minutes out to this one best buy on the edge of town where the population density is drastically lower! There's nothing but farms out there. It's really hard to imagine hundreds of people showing up to that one. Anybody ever notice large differences in lines in adjacent BBs in metropolitan areas? Maybe I'll just leave the house around 2 am and see what the lines look like a a best buy or two. And if it's ridiculous I guess I'll be first in line at Staples :) .
  5. wow you guys are doing a pretty good job of scaring me from the 22 in monitor. I was hoping 2 or 3 am would be early enough. I might be willing to go a little earlier... but some of you guys are crazy! I was hoping to just stand around for several hours rather than turning this into a full out camp. Maybe I'll buy one early and try my luck on the price match, and return it if necessary. The Samsung 920bw for $130 AR at Staples isn't looking too shabby after visiting this thread! thanks guys! 20-24 hours!? I'm worried about some of you!
  6. how early do you guys think we'll need to be for the 22 in Westinghouse. Hate to tell you guys this but my eyes are on that one too!! I'm thinking 2 or 3 am.... you guys think that's early enough?? I always here stories about people showing up around 3am to 100-200 people in line already. Shoot maybe I need to head there even earlier?
  7. me too! the only problem is it only has an analog input, which means the signal is unnecessarilly converted from digital to analog to digital which can cause pixelation of text. Samsung is a top brand for LCDs because they have a 3 yr no dead pixels warranty. Dead pixels are extremely rare from customer reviews I've read. I was kind of hoping there would be some ridiculously cheap 19" CRTs this BF b/c stores might wanna free up some space for pricier xmas loot. oh well this is a great deal and now I can get my desk back. I have a $40 off a total purchase of $199 or more coupon good at circuit city. I'm going to try to get staples to pricematch the coupn so that the monitor only costs $160 for me! It says not combinable with select circuit city offers! So wish me luck!
  8. I want video games, video games, and video games. That's what I'm asking my girlfriend for. I forgot to grow up too.
