  1. For those that purchased...were the secret 8 items that really great of a bargain?
  2. Attempted to price match S2: Entourage/Circuit City ad. Cashier says we do not price match Blitz items. I advise that this DVD is part of the regular ad. Still persists. Request manager made cash register visit to confirm as I have price matched at Walmart, both Blitz and non-blitz items for years. A red vested gal approaches and says WM will not price match blitz items. I indicate that the item is part of the regular ad, not an hour limit special. Red vested gal says "okay, just this time, let it go". A friend across town at a different WM says that WM price matched everything on Blitz hour limited specials from Best Buy and Circuit City without hestitation. I think they make this stuff up as they go along. I was just too tired to go to Circuit City...hence the reason I attempted a PM at all.
  3. Last year, I stopped at Target on Wednesday evening to determine where the DVD's I wanted would be located (to make my Friday strategy a bit easier). What I discovered is that the tv series and special price DVD's were ringing up at the BF price on Wednesday evening. I'm going to stop there after work this year to see if the same thing happens.
  4. Maybe 4 - 5 hours of pure shopping time. Leave house at 4:30 - 5:00 am. Return home by 11 am.
  5. Yup, the joys of North Florida. Rain overnight through day after Thanksgiving morning, which ultimately brings a cold front in.
  6. What you sometimes find is that the items in the store now are different from those special offers they showcase on Black Friday. So, therefore, you wouldn’t necessarily be able to return and repurchase, unless the item is the same make, model, etc. Special Black Friday offers such as Televisions, stereos, computers (the features) and cameras tend to be different versus regular store stock.
  7. I have been going BF shopping for years by myself and prefer it that way! I can go where I want, when I want and stay as long as I want. Like others mentioned, there are always people to chat with in line nearby and you learn their strategies as well. I circle all the items I am interested in seeing the day before with a large black marker and try to put them in order of the stops I’ll make. I leave them in the car and take only the ad with me for that store (unless I’m price matching). I bring fruit and bottled water in the car to eat/drink between stops. I don’t bring a chair since I can’t really return to my vehicle. I try to dress in layers so that if I am overheated, I can wear fewer layers at the next stop. I don’t like carrying a big bulky coat so depending on the length of time in the line, I might not take it. I live in north Florida, so it’s not terribly cold. The rain is usually the problem, so I have a collapsible umbrella and will just put it in my purse. I do take out all unnecessary credit cards, frequent shopper cards, and other purse stuff so that I am not too overloaded and can carry my purchases adequately.
