  1. Got today's paper and only saw Target. No Walmart, and Toys R Us had a little pamphlet saying the book was available at the store or online. Nothing in the mail. Ugh! And yes, we're on the mailing list. Then again, our mail delivery here stinks. We rarely get Saturday Mail. So fingers crossed we get it tomorrow
  2. Does anyone know when it'll be in the paper? For some reason I was under the impression today's paper was going to have Walmart, Target and Toys R Us? Bit disappointed today.
  3. I guess it's whatever your tradition is. We always had Thanksgivings at 11 or 12 because dad was an air traffic controller, so he worked every holiday, including Christmas, because he would get Holiday pay plus night differential, plus OT if it was over his 40 hours. Matter of fact I can't remember any holiday he DIDN'T work. So I continued the lunch tradition. Wouldn't affect me except I'm traveling that night to in laws, then flying home first thing Friday. Agree that the Friday crowds are less that way. Miss door busters but last year found almost everything anyways.
  4. I'm looking for one too. I remember there was one last year at Walmart at a good price, but my son was still too little. Hoping for good luck with that this Christmas
  5. not the best ad I have seen, but I already saw a few items cheaper in this ad then on Amazon or Target.
  6. It does bring free software, but when most of it is for games/other content that my kid doesn't want then I can't really do much with it. As for the charging, yes I tried charging it on my laptop and it didn't work. Maybe I have a defective unit, between that and the SD card issues. Yes, a closed system is great for a little one, but when I have to side load an app store to get something as simple as Angry Birds Star Wars.....We have a Note 2 7"as well, plus many other Android devices, and there's usually a lag between something available on Google Play getting on Amazon's app store. Lags are not good when the 4 y.o. sees his sister playing a game he wants. Anyway, I hear that they're now doing Disney & Nick versions so maybe the content will improve. It would be interesting to see about that "kids Samsung note" that was mentioned earlier
  7. Hello - I used to be on here under a previous name, but it'd been a while so I forgot it Anyhow just wanted to share my tablet experiences from last year. Got a Note 7 for my DD, and a Nabi for my now 4 y.o. son. If I had to do it again, I wouldn't have gotten the Nabi. I've had to side load almost everything my kid wants or use that 1market (?) app store. The actual Nabi store doesn't have much as far as free stuff. Also, the charger. Almost every electronic device out there has those flat heads (think the cell phones going to "universal" chargers), but not the Nabi. If it doesn't sit just perfect, it won't charge. So right now we have to take ours and wedge the charger up against the wall at a certain angle, and then use a stool to wedge/push it in the correct angle. Usually takes about 5 minutes of experimenting with micro-angles. I will say it has lasted, but frankly nothing that couldn't have been accomplished by getting a Kindle Fire or another Note 7 for him and getting an Otter box. Battery also runs out insanely fast. The Cartoon Network link and other child programs that came with it were basically ads. There's no full content per se. Also I tried putting an SD card in so it could read the content and watch videos/load apps - no dice. Just too many restrictions on this tablet and it's just been a headache. For the same price, I'd go with one of the Androids and just get some parental controls, or do the Kindle since their store is a bit more closed and the tablet has more parental controls. Just my 2 cents. Hope this helps.
