  1. I like the look of some of those laptops! Quick question. Has anyone ever ordered a laptop from Office Depot online, on Thanksgiving morning at all? was just wondering how long their shipping time would be on a laptop bought in the Black Friday online sale on Thanksgiving day itself? Thanks all.

  3. I have a question, if someone could help On the Office Max ad for the Toshiba Satellite 17.3" Laptop with AMD A6, 6GB RAM, 640GB HDD with Windows 8 (L875D-S7332), it says the price is $379.99 after a $50 VISA pre-paid card. Can someone explain what the VISA pre-paid card part is, please? I am thinking because i'm not from UK, I might not be eligable
  4. So far, the laptops I've seen that I like are the Samsung - Laptop Essentials Bundle at BestBuy, the Toshiba - Satellite 17.3" Laptop (depending on price) at BestBuy, the Toshiba Satellite L875D-S7332 Notebook at Office Max and the HP 17.3" Laptop w/ AMD A8 Quad-Core at Staples (favourite so far I think),
  5. I'm getting so excited now with the ads rolling out. I'm eagerly awaiting Office Depot now!
  6. To add to the question re: ordering online. How long did the laptops take to arrive over the Thanksgiving Period? We leave Orlando on November 28th, so not sure if that gives us enough time if we did order online?
  7. Wow, you're so lucky! I've been twice for a Packers game both times. Been a Packers fan since 2001, so made the trip to Lambeau twice, loved every minute I've spent in Green Bay. Would love to live there some day.
  8. Best thing about Black Friday: The fact I can get bargains like no other, as we don't have Black Friday in the UK! I also love the atmosphere of Midnight Madness, and seeing all walks of life out to get the best bargains they can
  9. Not long at all now, getting seriously excited here!
  10. Thank you for the help everyone. It's getting closer now, getting very excited!
  11. Sorry to ask another question Is it worth visiting th e big box stores (like Best Buy and Walmart) during the day time on Black Friday? Can some good deals and bargains still be had? Or is basically everything gone by the day time, seeing as they're opening at Midnight?
  12. I love Wisconsin! Granted I've only been to Green Bay, but still, I love it!
  13. I'd love a new iPod touch, but I don't think I could justify the money on one. Plus I'd need a 64GB version as I have a 60GB music collection
  14. Cheers for the info on Circuit City. I'll be sure to keep my eyes peeled for their ad!
  15. Thank you for the help Hopefully I'll be able to get a better general idea once the ads start filtering through. Thank you for the heads up regarding the spreadsheets, I didn't know such a thing were getting made. That will help me massively! I don't have any friends in the US I'm afraid (boo hoo), so couldn't get anything shipped anywhere. I could get something shipped to the hotel I guess, but I'd be scared incase it didn't arrive in time for me leaving. With regards to what I'm looking for, I'm not necessarily looking for the cheapest, just the one I think is a good deal. There is a maximum I want to spend, and a minimum spec set I'd want to have aswell. When we arrive in Orlando, I was going to visit Office Max/Office Depot and hopefully speak with a member of staff and try and pick their brains to see how their system works, what they have in stock, how many people they expect etc etc, and hopefully get some info that way.
  16. Thank you! I'm really excited and really looking forward to it! I am eagerly awaiting the Ads now
  17. Thank you Tbh, it's not a million % important that I buy a laptop, I'd just like one if I can get a good deal on one. Yeah, here's hoping the stores aren't too busy! Thanks for the heads up regarding online shopping. I'm only in Orlando for the week, so I think it might be cutting it a bit close if I order online and hope that it arrives at the hotel before I leave!
  18. I'm kind of ready. I know what I'd like (a decent laptop for up to $400). I just need to see what the ads are like when they come out. I'm hoping for a good deal at either office max, or office depot, as people have said that's my best chance of getting a laptop (I can't queue at the likes of Walmart and Best Buy etc coz I'll be BF shopping while on holiday from the UK). I am also hoping to get my usual haul of clothing from the Outlet stores. My favourite being the Ecko and Marc Ecko shops. I literally end up with a years supply of clothes for very little money! I'm really, really excited. BF shopping for me means I'm on vacation, and (hopefully) having a whale of a time in (again hopefully) some nice sunny weather!
  19. Done. Maybe me being from the UK added some differing opinions
  20. Thanks again all for the help I have just noticed that Office Depot and Office Max both open at 6am. Is there anyone here from Orlando who could have a rough idea of what time I would need to queue in order to get a good laptop deal? Cheers
  21. Wow, that's awesome, thanks for the heads up ASDA has changed a lot, for the better I didn't mean to make a direct comparison with Walmart (Walmart rules), I just meant with regards to the type of store it is. You guys have Aldi over the US also?! That's awesome. I love Aldi! Thanks a lot I'm getting really excited. I'm really glad I found this forum, it looks like it could come in very handy
  22. Hi Marcster, Thanks for the welcome. It seems there is a lingo issue, my apologies! Our version of Walmart (called ASDA) is called a Supermarket as it sells food, but also basically everything else (clothes, electronics etc etc). Again, apologies. Thanks a lot for your reply, much appreciated. I guess our best bet might be to look at places like Staples, OfficeMax etc, because I'm not sure I could justify spending a couple of days holiday in a queue, in the hope I may get a cheap laptop. A couple hours is fine, but days might be stretching it a bit. thanks again
  23. Hello all, I've got a few questions regarding Black Friday sales. Me & my other half are visiting Orlando from the UK, and we're there over the Thanksgiving period. We've been a couple of times before over Thanksgiving, and have loved the experience. We've been shopping during "midnight madness" a couple of times at the Outlets in Florida, but we've never bought anything from one of the bigger supermarkets. This year we're looking on buying a new laptop, as they're much cheaper in the US than the UK. So what I was wondering was, how do Black Friday sales actually work for the big supermarkets? Do you have to get in line incredibly early? Is there some sort of ticketing system? Are the chances slim we'll get a laptop on a good deal? By the looks of last years ads, it looks possible we'd like to go to Walmart or Best Buy, as they looked to have good laptop deals. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks so much
