  1. I haven't seen an ad yet this year for Tractor Supply Company. They are usually one of the first - I get my full winter's supply of black oil sunflower seed most years on Black Friday.

Also IKEA, but I think they might just be doing the $25 of $150 promotion.

  2. Has anyone else found it increasingly difficult to shop at Amazon, due to the flood of cheap/discounted imported things? Many of them seem to get prominent placement, yet once you look at them and the reviews it's SO hard to figure out if something is good, or if it's just rubbish. Their new policy on reviews in exchange for free products has helped some, but not a lot.

  3. HOW TO WIN: Let's say you were given $1,000 to buy anything in any of the posted Black Friday ads. What would you buy?

Reply to this thread with the store, item name and price for each item you'd buy. Make sure you don't spend over $1,000 total (but don't worry about tax)

You can view the current ads w/ prices here: http://blackfriday.gottadeal.com

Feel free to use items from any store, including stores which we post ads from between now and the end of the contest.

Limit one entry per member. Entries will be accepted until 9:00pm ET on Monday, November 14th. At that point I'll randomly choose 15 entries and those members will receive GD prize packs.

As always, if you've won a prize pack, you aren't eligible to win another.

    Good luck to all!

Well, I was going to put down some appliances from Home Depot, but I've been saying I don't want to replace any of my current ones until my kitchen is redone. So, I guess it would have to be a TV. Since price is no object, to a point, I'd pick the 55" Sony 4K UHD from Best Buy (XBR-55X850D), for $899.99. I can't fit any bigger than that on my wall.

And with the remaining money I'd have a field day at Half Price Books. :D

  4. I went to Trader Joe's at 8am. Was almost empty. But got a lot of yummy munch stuff for a gift bag for my mom, and a few stocking stuffers for my son.

Then to TSC for the black oil sunflower seed. Have to keep the squirrels fed and the dog entertained. Girl said it had been busy but I thought it was pretty quiet.

Then to Boscov's. Parked right in front. Picked up two work dresses for me, and a wallet/watch for mini-me.

Then to the local flooring store to get samples for my bathroom reno. Found one I like - YAY!

Then 5 Below and PetSmart. Again parked right in front. No busier than an average Saturday, maybe even a little less busy.

I was home by 10:30. And that's considering the Trader Joe's is 25 miles away.

  5.

I ended up at the MS store too.  A bundle for everyone, right?

Xbox One 1TB Holiday Bundle Unit price: $399.00
$60 Microsoft Store gift code Unit price: $60.00
Sunset Overdrive for Xbox One: Unit price: $29.99
Xbox One Limited Edition Halo 5: Guardians Wireless Controller: Unit price: $69.99

    Discount: $169.99
    Subtotal: $388.99
    Sales tax: $0.00

    Total: $388.99

Plus (hopefully) 5% cashback from Discover.

YES! That was the best thing about it. Really was not fond of having to get a game he'd never play - seemed like everywhere just wanted to clear out their old 500gb models.

  6. DONE! And I am very happy.

    Microsoft store:

1TB Tomb Raider edition Xbox One: $349.99

    $60 Microsoft card: Free

    Forza Horizon 2: Free

    Forza Limited Edition controller: $39.99

The selection of "free games" was sucky, only 4 of them. I figure this will give him time to put Forza 6 on his birthday list (March). The selection of discounted controllers was quite impressive.

So I paid $50 more than the Target price, but got the 1TB; still got a $60 gift card, and a comparable price on the controller. And it didn't have to be bundled with games we didn't want. Woot!

  7. Has anyone heard any more about the Xbox at Target coming with a larger gift card. Trying to plan out my strategy this weekend

I have not, but I will go in this weekend and see if I can talk to them again. Honestly I hope you can get it online...I really don't want to be there at 6pm on Thursday. (Not because I want to leave my family - it's just me and my dog for the holiday, but I HATE crowds with a passion!)

  8. I was at my Target today and talking with the guys in the electronics department. (Remember the BF video from last year with the guy doing the "This...is...TARGET" impression of this is Sparta? Yea, that's my Target and that's the guy I was talking to. :D )

Anyway, he was saying that certain Target's were toying with the idea of upping the gift card with purchase on the Xbox One to $100!!! THAT would be awesome. So definitely keep an eye out/talk to your local store.

  9. It is not right now but it will be.

Be careful with this - Microsoft has been VERY misleading with this feature/option. All the games have to be programmed to be backwards compatible. It's not a "flip a switch" and they all work. My ex-husband has actually been one of the volunteer coders working on the project.

Here's an article on the latest list of titles that should work. Please note there are not any LEGO titles on there. :(

  10. My son's stocking is huge (which was unintentional, that's just the way it was made. By me.) so I can actually fit some big stuff in it. Always a satsuma, (it's a Doctor Who joke for us), candy, gum, books, playing cards, little mind-bender puzzles. This year I've been saving the $5 gift cards they give as freebies at Target, and whenever someone at work has given me a gift card as thanks I've saved that too.
