  1. Here is how my local Wal-Mart worked last year. Games, movies, houseware, bed-bath, toys, video games and clothes went on sale at midnight. There were employess supposedly stationed at each area, like the pallet that had the $1.50 towels on it. Some areas lost there employee and became a free for all, and I got many items at 11Pm. The towels were opened at 11:45 PM, the video games and such were a free for all. The funny part was the movies. Must have been 100 people wanting to crack open the displays of movies. They even had a few police officers there to monitor. Meanwhile I wanted the big ticket 5 am stuff like the Xbox last year. That line started when you got there. It was located in the Christmas aisles and you got a ticket. In "theory", you had to stay in line the whole time. No one was watching so I still shopped. The nice thing was that those who did not want the big ticket items, they were out of the store by 1:30 am. The only people left were stragglers and the people there for the 5 am. I had my oldest son with me, sitting in a line he had no clue was about, and was able to shop or go outside whenever I wanted to. McDonalds has a store in this Wal-Mart so they served food all night. About 3am they came around with water, coffee, 5 hour Energy drinks. At 4:45 AM had the boy start the car, I checked out at 5:05 AM with ALL of the items I picked up, and was out the door! I have my shopping down to a science and not sure I am gonna like the early openings. I like the 24-hour stores, especially Meijer. I have a secret way of shopping there and getting out quickly.
  2. Nice, I will be in the Fort Wayne area for my shopping. Merrilville would be fun to go to.
  3. Awesome, I will be doing my shopping in Fort Wayne.IN as well.
  4. I have not been to Mb and my response may not be everything you are looking for, but I do have some tips. Before you go down there, google map each location that you may want to visit. If you have a GPS pre-load all the big stores that you want to go to. I live in Indiana and one year we went to Parsippany, NJ to see my brother. I did BF shopping but did not do my homework and it was nuts! Took my nephews with me and it was a madhouse that I was not prepared for. I have since returned on a BF and felt better prepared when I had things layed out to me on Google Maps. My advice on local shops would be to see the Thanksgiving Day paper while you are there. You will know from here what the good deals are from the big stores, so looking on turkey day for local will not slow you down at all. Enjoy your BF shopping, I always do no matter where I do it from. I always meet new people and always get a kick out the days festivities.
  5. Hello fellow shoppers, my name is Drew and I am posting to see if anyone in here in the Fort Wayne, IN area wants to start a Black Friday group. This could be a group that would meet and shop not only together but also for each other to hit as many stores as possible. If anyone is interested please let me know.
  6. 1) Now "Occupy" has taken over Best Buy! After protesting big business and banks, they now move on to corporate America demanding lower prices. 2) Way to go, good job being first in line, kinda sucks it is only Wednesday night but none-the-less congrats! 3) Sniff... "I lost my mommy....could someone please find her for me?"
