  1. In two stores it was not the event it used to ne. they were marking things down in the morning but the aisles were not set as they had been in years past.

I know! I went back later in the day after they marked down toys again on Thursday and hardly anything was gone from when I was there at opening. It used to be so much fun!

From my experience Legos never go 70 and they don't stick around for long. If you see them at 30 you should grab them. 50 you definitely grab them!

I was watching the Lego's for a friend. They have a ton of the Marvel ones at 30%. She said go ahead and get it now so I did. They might go 50% because they really have a lot. You are right that they usually don't go 70%. :( They did in the good old days though! I remember getting Lego trains for 75% off. And Lego castles for 75% off too. I still have a boxed train set in the basement from a long time ago.

  2. Actually some toys went to 70% off today. The Our Generation Christmas dolls in the green or red dresses (with extra outfit and book) went down to $10.48! Also some of the Fairy stuff went 70% along with some Bratz and one style Monster High doll. Some more things went from 30%-50%. I just wanted those dolls so I'm happy. The big 11 pack of Disney princess dolls remains at $49.98. THere was a train table that was 70% off too. Not much I want at all this year.

  3. My sister was there at 8:00 today. The overnight sign changer guy told her and another lady that it was 90% but the computer was having trouble changing over so just tell them when you check out. I think the other lady told some other people because another lady came back after going through the checkout and said they wouldn't change it. We were like, oh no. We were pretty much done at that point so we decided to go tackle the checkout. I told my sister they better give it to us at 90% since John H., the clerk, told us. So we went right up to the CSM and told him we better have the manager come up. They gave it to us at 90% with no problem. :) :) So tomorrow it must be going 90%.

Went in late Monday morning and it was still 70%! Boy did we get some good deals from that guys mistake!

Do you think toys will go this Thursday or next Thursday?

  5. The Wednesday/Thursday thing has more to do with your store. The general trend in our area is Thursday. And based on looking online, they did go today. Can everyone who finds Lego clearance please post the DPCIs? I would like to see which ones were clearance as sometimes they show up without tags (returns, usually), and it is frustrating to have to scan everything. It is helpful to know which DPCIs were clearance in the first place. Most of our stores are well out of the Legos, but at least I can try stalking them if I know what to look for.

    THanks!

There were only three or four single sets. one was a girl one. if i go back i'll get the info.

  6. Toys 70% except for Legos and a few others. Got the last two sets of the 7 pack Disney princesses for $23.98; frozen bicycle sets; melissa and doug safari sorting $5.38; melissa and doug money sets $3.88; LP airport $11.98; our generation doll 7.48; rush hour games 7.48; various Barbies, etc... sorry bad typing-have broken arm.

Wed might be 'normal' through out the rest of the year but toy clearance after xmas has trended towards thurs. But with a run up of clearance from 30 to 50.
I haven't been out much and there is so little chatter in here.

thanks! i wouldn't have gone today without your post!

  8. Considering I was only going to go to a couple of stores and I wasn't even excited I did manage to shop for 8+ hours. lol First stop Michaels but too long of line to wait. I have to mention it rained constantly from at least 4:00 PM when I went out until midnight. It's never rained for BF that I can remember and I've been doing it for years and years. Sleet? Yes. Snow? Yes. Freezing cold and windy? Yes. Rain? NEVER! lol Went to Shoe Carnival. Last year I think there were 50 in line this year 5! Went in, got my son his Sperry shoes and left. More people were trickling in. Went to Penneys. Got the 9.99 (reg 40.00) and 2.99 pillow (reg 12?) AND they let me use a $10.00 off $10.00 purchase coupon! Then to Younkers and got the Kitchenaid mixer for my sister. Loaded it into my car. Went back inside where I wandered around for about an hour trying to find something to spend my three $10 off $10 coupons. Finally got so frustrated I left. Went to Kohls-lines all the way to the back for the checkout so I left. Went to Walmart. Got the cheap washcloths for operation Christmas child shoebox project and one or two other things. Went back to Michaels where I didn't have to wait in line and got what I wanted (which wasn't all that much-not as good as last year imho). Ran into Gordmans, didn't get anything. Went back to Younkers. Found some earrings to use my coupons on and a set of three paring knives. Went back to Kohls. Hadn't studied the ad that well. I had two $10.00 off coupons. I found out the Barbie's were 5.99 so I got excited. I got a ton of those and the 2 pack clothing sets (5.99 too). I also got that Melissa and Doug multi pack kitchen set. Oh and the cute Christmas cookie baking set. With the coupon and the 15% off it makes the Barbies/clothes sets $4.84. Then I went to Target and got those Barbie $29 doorbuster sets with the closet, two dolls and car. They were bringing three sets out from the back room and I got two of them. Finally I went home. Sat and looked through the Kohls. Saw the vacuums on sale and I really, really need one. So I called to see if they had any of the styles left I wanted and they did so I ran back over there (I only live 5 minutes away). Also got a Serta gel bed pad thing. I'm exhausted and broke! lol But it was fun! The young man at Kohls showing people to the registers was really funny and it reminded me of the old days and the fun I used to have in line waiting for stores to open and everyone joking around. All in all, except for the constant rain, it was a good time. :)

  9. On some things anyway! I was there this afternoon. The Farberware 15 pc knife set has a Black Friday price of $29.97 and I got it for $22.99! I got the slap wrist lighted bracelets in the mens dept for $5.00 and they are $6.99 on BF. I got the Perfect Pillow for the BF price. No crowds to fight! Just scan everything and see what it will end up after the coupon. You can use the app coupon at least twice. I'm going back tomorrow. I'm so dumb. I thought I loved the Farberware knives but I got home all excited and it's the Kitchenaid ones I like! lol Oh well I'm sure someone will want them in my family. :)
