  1. I think it makes sense. My ds has an ipod and I was debating between the fire or a nook color. I chose nook color because he already has an account for barnes and Noble. since he already has a kindle account, I would go with that. Ipods are nice but too small to play games and watch movies imo
  2. I love the honey Idea. I am a high school teacher, and occasionally I get a gifts, not as common as Elementary teachers. My favorite gifts are the notes from students telling me how much they enjoy the class or have learned. I have saved them all. Once a student gave me a bottle of tequila, it was awkward to say the least since he was a minor and I don't drink and would never think of bringing liquor to work. Not to offend but my elementary school teacher friends tell me they get so many mugs every year that they really don't appreciate the mugs but do appreciate the thought. They tell me that gift cards are the best, most use them to buy things for the class. Homemade foods generally are not a good idea, the food often goes to waste. The thing to avoid the most is the #1 teacher gifts, you can only have so much of them.
  3. I am so glad my kids are teens now. I remember back in the day fighting for the original gameboy at Walmart during BF. A mad house, people dove in the bin, it was about 10 deep, I managed to get one because some one was looking for a specific color and was throwing the ones he didn't want to the crowd. I don't know, the toys today just seem so lame compared to when I was a kid.
  4. I agree, with the competition there is now, there is no guarantee you will get what you want especially doubles. I bought 2 laptops in July for my kids, they were better than the ones offered on BF last year and the price was comprable. As for ipods, Have you tried the refurbished ones from apple. I bought a refurbished ipad and ipod from them and had no problems. I also got my son a refurbished nook with out problems. Most refurbs have the same guarantee and are a lot cheaper than the sale price. The nice thing about refurbs are they are gone over individually. Not directly off the assembly line where 1 in 1000 are tested. Saying that I would be hesitant of buying a refurbished phone.
  5. kind of feel sorry for her, Is a cart load of cheap merchandise really worth the price she paid. I went to Menards in Wausau a few years ago, never going back. There bargains weren't worth the inability to move in the store and the long and slow check out lines. I don't think stores realize that for every customer they gain, they also lose them, when their stores become chaotic mad houses.
  6. With all the amazing online deals and in-store deals and coupons...I'm almost done with my shopping. I had this whole game plan of being at TRU for 10, WM after, Target at 4, Lowes at 6...

Now all I need to get are the Eyeclops, Megablocks, and Bakugan at Target and the Wine Chiller at Lowes. And I'll be done. I am so excited about all the deals I got, and I've come in well under budget, but I feel like I SHOULD be out there on BF, waiting overnight for the sales to start, fighting my way to the video games... I've never been done like this before.

And now here I am, on the cusp of Black Friday, and I only need a handful of things. Anyone else? Someone make me feel better about being unfaithful to Black Friday.

same thing here, I am almost 90% done and wrapped. I may try online for 1 item for myself, but if I don't get it , It will be ok
