  1. The person checking out in front of me was buying cans of Alpo dog food today for 14 cents a can! My dog is super picky but a great deal for someone with an Alpo eating dog.
  2. The Kindle was in fact opened. I explained this to the customer service representative and was told that it was not an issue as long as I had the original box and receipt. I knew the name and description of the service rep....but was told by the store manager that I had been given incorrect information about the return policy. I had gone through the process of asking about the return because I knew that Target was really strict on electronic item returns. Maybe I need to start calling corporate and having a conference call with the local customer service when I ask my questions.
  3. I have to vent a little bit. I purchased a $79.98 Kindle for my daughter a few days ago....and when we got it home she said she wished that she had chosen a Kindle Touch. We were in Target a few days later....and lo and behold we found a Kindle Touch in the glass case that had been repackaged and was clearanced for $69.98 (instead of the regular price of $99.98). I asked the electronics guy if I would be allowed to return the first Kindle (we didn't want two Kindles) and he said sure, but you might check with customer service. I did. I was told that as long as I still had the box and my receipt that it would be fine. So I went ahead bought the second Kindle at the service desk. I took the first Kindle back today....and guess what Target said? You guessed it.....can't return it! I argued and argued and they finally agreed to give me in-store credit. I am so frustrated with Target's return policies (and the fact that their own customer service people don't understand the policies). I'm sure I will use the credit up over time.....but it is the principal of the matter. I probably should contact corporate. On a side note.....does anyone know when sporting good clearance will be marked down again?
  4. Called my store today and asked if Christmas was 90% off? I was told that their clearance never has gone 90% off for any reason in the past. Not true! I just shopped their Halloween merchandise at 90% in October. How can employees know so little about their own store? It is frustrating. The day before I called to check on Christmas and was told "I think it was 70% off yesterday....so it probably is still the same." She wouldn't even call and check for me. I'm about ready to report my Target to corporate for laziness and ignorance.
  5. I couldn't even get in the door to our Target on Black Friday! The doors opened at midnight and they only let so many people in at a time for crowd control. It was ridiculous. I waited until 12:30 and still was not even close to the door! I still don't know which specials were drawing in this kind of crowd because I was just going to browse. I think when you shop clearance all year...these Black Friday sales aren't as special. I finally gave up and went home to my warm bed.
  6. Can someone tell me which Harry Potter Lego sets were in the sale? Also does anyone have any idea if the Tulsa or Owasso, Oklahoma Targets went 75% off on toys this week?
  7. Drove the long 2 hours to Shreveport, Louisiana yesterday and toys were 75% off! There was only one person shopping when I got there at 9:30...and she had two carts and quickly left. People were really only buying a few things even at 75% but the shelves were still getting picked over. The Bossier City store had not marked their toys yet (as of noon yesterday) so they will probably go today. They really did not have that many toys left anyway. I was mainly shopping for my mom to help her with the grandkids' Christmas...but managed to buy many, many things myself. My most exciting finds were the Star Wars Force Trainer for $24.98 and a black jewlery armoire (for my daughter) for $24.98. I also bought a little white jewlery armoire for my niece for $14.98. I thought about driving to Monroe today but feel a little tired from the 4 hour drive yesterday (and the stashing away of toys) so decided to skip it. I really bought more than I needed since my kids are getting older and more picky.
  8. Has anyone looked at bicycles recently? I am hoping to find a 26" bike on clearance for my daughter's birthday. When she rides her smaller bike it is starting to look a little like a clown car exhibit....she has way outgrown the bicycle! :)
  9. LOL! Yes, it has been the most difficult part of my moving transition. I am in Arkansas and live 2 hours south of the Little Rock stores and 2 hours north of the Louisiana stores. It is a challenge. However, going to Target now is such an exciting event that I almost hyperventilate when I walk through the doors. :)
  10. So, do we think that the 75% toy clearance will happen on Thursday the 13th? I am almost two hours from my nearest Target (which has been soooo difficult because I used to live 5 minutes from the store in another city). I have to really plan ahead to get to the store on "the day." Any guesses?
  11. I did this same thing one year. I called and asked about one specific toy each morning. It was never marked down. I decided to just stop by my Target for dish detergent......and all of the toys (EXCEPT the one item I had been calling and asking about for two weeks had gone 75% off that morning!) Unbelievable. So you might have two or three items that you ask about each time. :)
  12. I buy for Christmas and Birthdays for my kids and my nieces. I use smaller items for stocking stuffers and for our 12 days of Christmas gifts. The only way I can pull off such a great Christmas is with Target! I always keep a few items stored for Birthday parties for random school friends. I also donate a few items to Toys for Tots and anything left that I decide I just can't use I put in my garage sale for exactly (sometimes less) than I paid.
  13. I went to the Shreveport and Bossier City Targets today....still 30 and 50%. They each have about 2 aisles of toys left that are very picked over and not stocked full. Did anyone go to the Monroe, Louisiana store today? I am just wondering if they have very many toys left and if it is even worth the drive for me. Thanks!
  14. Our store actually pulled toys off the shelf last year that never made it to 75% and never reappeared. I had been watching a Lionel train set that never went past 30%. My store had about 12 of them on the shelves on January 14th.....and then on the 15th when 75% started they had disappeared (and I was the first one in the store). When I asked a Manager he said that some of the toy manufacturers have them pull the toys and return them rather than mark them down to 75%. I did end up getting the Lionel Polar Express G Gauge train for 50%...but it was not the one I really wanted and had stalked for weeks and weeks.
  15. The Tulsa area stores were marked down on January 15th last year which was a Thursday. Don't know if it will be the same day this year or not.....
  16. Okay...thanks LovetoshopCA! Our Target has always gone 75% clearance on Thursday morning...and the Target 30 minutes away from that store always went 75% on the Wendesday morning of that week. I have just never known of a Target to wait until Friday so I was confused..... I have quite a long drive to the store so I am trying to figure out "the day" to save myself a lot of wasted time on the road and gasoline.
  17. I just got some inside info that a local Target plans to mark down toys on Thursday night for Friday morning......has anyone ever seen this happen before? I am a bit skeptical because I have never seen toys marked down on a Friday.
  18. Does anyone know if the Monroe or Shreveport, Louisiana Targets traditionally mark toys down on Wednesdays or Thursdays? Thanks so much!
  19. The Monty Rex Coupon was still on the Playskool website a few days ago.
  20. My Target store in Wisconsin went 75% off toys on the 15th last year as well. We were having a blizzard that day and my kid's school called off because of the severe weather. I hate to admit this but we loaded blankets and emergency supplies in the car and were first in the door when Target opened! Sadly, I relocated to the South and now live 1-2 hours from the nearest Target...so if anyone is watching either Monroe or Shreveport, Louisiana can you keep me informed? I plan to drive down the 75% day but will definitely not be able to be first in the door this time. :)
