  1. there were a few good deals, but nothing that made me drool or foam at the mouth. LOL! The stuff I was interested in was kind of a "if I get it great, but if not, *shrug*" kinda thing. The Target 1Tb hard drive for under $60 was a particularly nice deal, and I managed to get one. Yippee! But had I not, I would have just found one else where. Seems like most of the stores were selling the same stuff for around the same prices.
  2. Many of the stores here (MI) had their crap together this year. Target had cops and hired security, even handed out coffee and hot chocolate. There were carts blocking entrances, and most people seemed quite happy to wait in line like civilized humans. Big Kudos to Target in Flint, MI too, for having lots of stock of their BF sales items. My mother and I got in around 5:20 and managed to get everything we were after. And there was still TVs, DVD players, etc. left by 6. The cops and security were very strict about line jumpers. We also hit Prime Outlets in Birch Run which opens at 12 am (some stores at 10 or 11pm) and there was plenty of security cruising the lots. I have dealt with the mobs in the past. Walmart specifically. I won't go there for the early morn BF sales anymore. Staples and a few others do tickets. A side note about Walmart employees being rude and people taking stuff before they're supposed to. Last year I dealt with this as a shopper. The employees were terrible and snarky. But I overheard a manager telling someone else that if it was on the shelf, it was fair game, just not in the aisle. So I promptly walked back to the toys and picked up the vtech pocket I wanted for my son and was sure to let the employee that snipped at me for looking at the stuff in the aisle that she wasn't gonna ruin my BF.
  3. I understand we all have diff situations. I personally won't take my kid out on BF until he's much older (he's 4). I am lucky enough to have family to watch him. Usually Hubby watches him until he has to go to work. My father shows up about 30 min before hubby leaves, so my son is always well taken care of while mom and I go deal hunting. :) However, being in MI, it was snowing and raining this year. Cold cold COLD! And I seen many instances of people out with infants and toddlers. One instance was of 3 adults and 2 infants. Tell me how one of them couldn't have at the VERY LEAST stayed in the car with the kids, rather than stand in line in the cold for hours??? They weren't bundled all that well (the infants), the adults were all coated-up just fine. And screaming/crying kids and babies on BF don't exactly make the trip more enjoyable for anyone. I understand they're tired, but do we all have to get an earful when clearly SOMEONE could have stayed home or in the car with them?
