  1. You won't have problems with Windows either if you know what you're doing. I have a White Polycarbonate Macbook w/ Snow Leopard and nothing is better about it than my Windows box. Sure, it may have more eye candy...but who cares about that.
  2. I've used 7 for many weeks now. Dualbooting XP and 7 ultimate on an HP w/ 4gb ram, 4GHz, 200GB hdd, etc...Which do I prefer? XP. Nothing against those that use 7...I just happened to find it to be a glitzy version of xp. Nothing added that really tickles me fancy. XP still seems to run faster...Xp still works fine for me. Now, if I'm forced to go 7, I'm fine with that =) -Sorry to get off topic
  3. I'm just wondering how hard it will be to find XP drivers for Win. 7 machines...hmm...
  4. You know, this is something that I have been looking for. A NEW laptop with XP installed~! And I can't seem to find one. Do any computer manufacturers still carry them other than the Dell minis and netbooks? Yeah, yeah...so everyone says 7 is one thing Microsoft has done right. I don't want 7. I despise Vista and 7. Tried em both, hate em both. I plan to use XP until I am FORCED to go otherwise. (which I believe is 2014) Xp is great and doesn't require much to run. Simple and clean.
  5. I would NOT pay a penny for that cheap piece of junk that Kmart calls a netbook. I'd call it an oversized cellphone with only internet capabilities. It has windows CE and specs that are over 10 years old ( 400Mhz, 128 MB of ram, and only TWO, yes, TWO GB of hard drive space!) Cheap, but pathetic and useless (also,I don't think windows CE can run Flash can it?...if this is true...you're going to be doing very little, if anything on this machine).....just my 2 cents....anywhoo, Sam's Club has an Acer Aspire One 10.1" Netbook. Now I'm not for sure on the specs of this machine, but I'll bet money on the fact that it will atleast come with either XP or 7 starter, possibly. I'll also bet it will have atleast a gig of ram. Already you can see it's much better than Kmart's oversized pda! Plus, Sam's club price for this netbook is only 197 dollars....just a little bit more than Kmart's. The Acer also has a bigger screen than the Kmart junk and I KNOW will be made with WAY more quality.
  6. I'd leave it in its box (or make it look like it had never been opened when you take it back...lol...it's possible if you're extremely careful) until you see what other deals will be available on BF. But, I seriously doubt you'll find something as nice for less that what that one was selling for....Unless it's some form of a netbook...which I'm trying to avoid. I mean, the laptop may not be something good for the gurus who play all kinds of crazy games and make movies, etc. But for those of us who do word processing, web surfing, facebook, a few light games, burn a few cds,etc... it's a steal.
  7. In 2007, I believe, on BF they had different colored Bissell vacuums at WM(not the stick vacs)...no hose...terrible suction...so cheap and plastic-y...I think they were 20 dollars. Yeah. It was a waste. Less than a year later I purchased a new Eureka vacuum. I LOVE it! :)
  8. Junk, junk, junk! We got one of these last year and I think it is the most awful thing ever! You'll get about the same effect as spraying hot water from a Windex bottle on the surface you're cleaning!

    Decorating - Too soon?

Even though I'm battling the flu, I got it in mind to get all of the decorations out to see what I have and what I need. I took everything into a spare room and checked all the strings of lights and all light-up decorations. I made a list of all I need to decorate like I want to this year. I know it sounds like I've done very little work, but we have lots of decorations, and I feel like I've accomplished a lot! =) Happy Decorating everyone! I'll begin putting up outdoor decorations the week of Thanksgiving and put up the indoor decorations Thanksgiving night and weekend! :) I'm really excited about decorating this year! I'm going all-out this year with lots of festive, rustic decorations :)
  10. I would use it as my main computer if I was close enough to a Best Buy to get my hands on one. :)
  11. I don't even have a Best Buy locally. Just Staples and Office Max. Nearest Best Buy is over and hour away. Oh well. Great deal but just can't travel that far to save a few bucks. As of now I guess I'll try to get the HP from Staples on BF.
  12. I can't find that laptop on their website They have one for 329 ...it is the cheapest I can find
  13. Any details on the HP laptop for 299 posted in the Staples BF add? Also, if you look under the Desktop section of their add it says Free HP printer with the purchase of any Desktop or Laptop. Wonder if that applies to this particular laptop? =)
  14. This is a falsehood. I have a White polycarbonate Macbook with 10.5 Leopard...and I'm looking for a good deal on a Windows laptop this year. I just don't like the Mac hype. It's not all it's said to be. I have no advantage using a Mac over a pc. I've never had a virus on a pc. I believe 90% of the "problems" given by Windows is from the user of the machine. If you want something that cost 3x as much and can't run most programs unless you install Bootcamp or the like...go Mac. If you know what you're doing and prefer to tweak your OS and run popular programs and games...go Pc
  15. Does anyone think any stores will have a decent laptop for 300 dollars or less this BF? I'd prefer to order one online. I don't really care what brand it is as long as it can play the Sims 3 =)
