  1. Went to Walmart @7:30 am to see if they had put the Leapfrog Explorer systems back out, NONE to be found and the employee's knew nothing about the Pre-Sale,  just then the Walmart ad came on the in-store big TV screen, showed them exactly what I was looking for, by then more people had arrived looking for the same items. No one could find them anywhere, yet the "scanner" showed that they had 11 in stock. Finally someone in electronics peeled away a banner on a glass front locked cabinet, and there in the front was this item, said they did not know how many were there, so we were all hopeful.  THEY COULD NOT GET THE DOOR TO UNLOCK - they got the assistant manager back there to see if his key would work - NOPE - he tried and then when he saw that we were not leaving, he told them to get a locksmith to open it. Asst manager took down names to "call them when the case was opened" and they could come back to the store and pick up their system...he would "hold one".. I did not leave, told them I would wait.....2 hours later, locked case was open and there was ONLY 1 LeapPad system in there period ,and I GOT IT..... the rest were Ultra LeapPads, they only had 1 of the Ultra systems on the shelf, why they had not restocked using these I do not know. When questioned about why scanner showed that they had 11, LeapPad2 systems in stock, they got the top manager to come back there....he was not happy, shared his attitude about it with us...."I don't want to send business to Toys R Us, but if it need it that bad - go to Toys R Us, we don't have to match their ad" !!!  When he first walked up and saw that several of us had the LeapPad2 with battery packs in our carts, he told us right away that

" Walmart will not reduce the price on those to match someone else's ad"  one lady spoke and said "we did not ask you to - we only want to know if somewhere else in the store, these missing LeapPads could be" and "is it posible to get a raincheck until someone can unload the truck"  He said "NO" and  finally admitted "maybe they are on one of the 3 trucks out back, but I am not going to go unload a truck myself to find an item to meet a competitor ad"  turns out all the local walmarts had trucks, waiting to be unloaded, but supposably no one there to unload the stock. the poor ladies in electronics tried calling around and each store showed that they had a minimum of 3 in the store, but none could be found, so they must stil be on the truck too, one lady said well if they are still on the truck, and have not been checked in, then they can't be the ones the scanner is showing as being in stock. Walmart employee's could not answer that. All that mattered to me was that I got what I came after, not the color I wanted but I got one.

This is a HUGE problem at Walmart. I can't tell you how many times I've found an empty shelf, had someone scan it, found they have more in the back.....but they have no idea WHERE to find them. Not a problem at Target or a Toys R Us.

  2. Woohoo! Just got back. I have a ton of walmart stores around me and went to three.

Layton, UT: They pulled all of the Skylanders swap force and Disney Infinity starter packs from the shelves. I asked and they said they're not allowed to sell them until 8 a.m. tomorrow.

Riverdale, UT: They have a TON of Swap Force sets for all systems. They had the sale signs and they're ringing correctly. They said they were limiting it to one per person for tonight. They only had a couple of the Infinity sets left, and not the xbox 360 I was looking for. They scanned the shelf and said the Wall Ave. store had them. I bought the Swap Force for the xbox 360 at this store and they didn't even flinch at my $10 coupon! Yippee! $27!!

Ogden, UT: They had one set out for each system. The sale signs were up and it did ring correctly. I bought the Infinity for Xbox here.

Thank you so much for all the info, everyone! :-)

  3. Thanks bopeep- but I am only able to order online as I need to ship everything so I guess I am out of luck??? Right?? I thought I had read that walmart .com was price matching on the 22nd.?

They're not price matching bf ads on the 22nd...they're going to have select items for sale at the advertised bf prices. So, you won't need the ads from the other stores for these items. The Skylanders set, etc, will be listed at the sale price.

  4.

"On Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday and any of their shopping trips, customers can take advantage of the everyday ad match policy* available at Walmart stores. If a customer spots a lower price on an advertised item, and comes into a Walmart store during the same day and time that the competitor’s ad is valid, Walmart will match the price at the register."

"Christmas Ad Match" is the term they're using regarding adjusting prices on items you have already purchased when you find a lower price. They're saying that, on BF, they will not give the difference back for items you've already purchased prior to that day. They WILL, however, price match items you are buying THAT DAY...during the times the prices are valid in the competitors ad. Basically, no adjustments on prior purchases with Black Friday ads.

  5. I can't seem to get the coupon to print… The coupons that I got through the text message doesn't have anything for the iPod…. Am I missing something?

You'll probably have to go directly to their coupon page first. Go to www.target.com The COUPONS tab is currently a little ways down in the right side if the homepage. Click on it. Once you're on the coupon page, click on ELECTRONICS on the left side of the page. The iPod coupon will be on the page that loads. You'll have to install their coupon printer before it will print.

If you're signed up for their mobile coupons you can text KIDSGIFTS to 827438 to receive the same coupon.

  6. FYI...I've already done the above deal to get this ipod at Target for one of my kids. It was $295 - 10% coupon - 5% RedCard discount - $25 gc back. I was pretty confidant it would be the cheapest I'd be able to find it before Christmas. And, no standing in line! :-)  I believe it's a weekly deal that is good through this Saturday.

  7. I was at Wal-mart this evening. I asked a woman at the customer service desk if she happened to know what time their sale was starting on black Friday. She said she didn't but asked the employee next to her. This woman said, "it's not black Friday...it's Thanksgiving. I THINK our sales are starting at 7pm. I also work at Old Navy and I know for a fact the sale there starts at 7." I'm very anxious to find out if she's correct!
