the movie is actually called "on strike for christmas.'

this seems to happen everywhere.. know your not alone. it seems eventually they do find christmas spirit .maybe years awaY though. it happened with kids here..they became teenagers and no interest in what use to be very involved christmas..like setting up a tree was actually a fight..not pleasant. again there is a movie about this.. im not sure of the name...the woman goes on strike for christmas...many others follow suit...ect.

what do you do as holiday traditions...or decorating ideas?? aside of the all known like someone posted in another post... watching christmas movies bf weekend.. or going to look at christmas lights,.. some ideas are midnight masses,...christmas caroling....baking holiday cookies/treats...ect? we make magic rain deer food,to sprinkle christmas eve..

these are some great ideas!!maybe in addition to,not instead of? though if some people are trying to cut back on christmas activity,instead of may work for them.

wonderful poem!! christmas does cont. to change.. as a child grows up it changes.. children become adults..it changes again.. you might lose someone, move, have life altering changes,,it changes again have children...changes again they grow../move ...more changes.. sometimes the changes can bee good this year i hope to create a better christmas for someone...as to often the changes are in the direction we dont prefer

religiously i think its said to do it after the last week of ordinary time...lol. i dont know when that is..think its thanksgiving week? anyhow i usually do it the first week in dec. other then cards...i hang those as soon as i get my first one..and got one from the red cross/blood donation last week:)

what was it they were asking for? i wonder if some org. was having a christmas party and wanted santa to give each child the same item... however IMO,the org. should purchase them in bulk if so. not put them on an angel tree

i do.its certainly worth the few cents a card for postage to put a smile on someones face.. even if its only a second..plus i hang mine... so they make me smile even more.

the first two years of holidays are the hardest. my heart goes out to all of you who have to deal with the pain and deal with loss.

i actually started just yesterday. we all love christmas music here.. though i think the storm and all the snow put us in the mood.

wow.i never started wrapping this early.. and i thought i start early. but i put them in suitcases and have a closet i keep empty boxes in.. they dont seem like a hiding place when everyone sees them in the back of the closet all year round
