  1. After I don't know how many years, PetSmart is finally letting me down. No Tidy Cat cat litter on sale this year. Instead, it's Arm and Hammer. More expensive, even on sale, than Tidy Cat. Does anyone have Tidy Cat for BF this year?
  2. I'm not looking for a gaming desktop. I need a desktop to replace my ancient 2005 (upgraded as much as I can). I don't game, but I do a lot of surfing, with lots of open browser tabs. I also listen to music, and watch some videos on the system. The 4 GB in my old one just can't handle WIN 10 and new programs. I don't need anything super fantabulous, just something that I will be assured will still be viable in 10 years. Maybe by then I'll be ready to give up a desktop and use just a laptop. But right now, a laptop won't fit on my desk, and I don't have room to have it on the side and connect to my 27" monitor. I was looking at Best Buy at the HP they had, but my brother wondered about the 256GB SSD being large enough, and only 8GB of RAM. Granted, I can expand the RAM, which I would probably do, because I can see in the foreseeable future that even 8 GB won't be enough. I don't want to spend a fortune, and most of what I've seen are gaming systems. I don't do that anymore. So, who's got the best desktop for a fuddy duddy like me?
  3. Thanks! That's what I was looking for. GottaDeal comes through again!
  4. I'm looking for a site where I can enter what I'm looking for, and it will give me the BF price. I know sites like buy.com are out there that do this for current prices, but is there any site where I can see at a glance the item prices at different locations for BF?
  5. So far I've seen it listed at Target (no extras) and Kohls (Kohls cash).Same sales price. Picking up three this year - replacing my wife's HR with the Versa or Ionic (so far only at Kohls), my daughter's Charge 2 with either a 3 or Versa, and I'm getting a 3. Due to my work, I can't have a Bluetooth-enabled device with me, so no reason to get a watch, as I would have to wear an old-style watch anyway. Will have to wait until I retire in a few years to get a smart watch/tracker. Just checked - Costco also has the Versa $50 off, which puts it at the same price as Target an Kolhs. The only thing you get extra at Costco is an extra band. Shopko has them too.
  6. I have to agree. Not in the market for much, but I'm still a little disappointed in the hardcopy ads. I have a feeling that stores will announce online only sale items just before BF.
  7. My wife and daughter use our several times a week, if not a couple times a day. They love it. One recommendation - get the largest one that will fit on your counter. We had a smaller one, liked it so much but due to the small size, we bought a much larger one.
  8. We got our first Christmas present for our grandkids after Christmas last year! Been sitting in storage ever since.
  9. When was the last year that Harbor Freight was not the first ad released?
  10. Sam's actually had their deal over Veterans Day. That's when we got our iphone 8 plus. There was a huge Sams Club gift card for each one. I don't think the price of the phone was any different, but the $300 gift card for each one helped lessen the pain.
  11. Having to watch money this year. Had unexpected bills, and I'm looking at retirement in a few years, so need to make sure I'm ready for that.
  12. Hoping Fitbit will put their new Charge 3 on discount for around $129, or at least bundle stuff together at its list price.
  13. The excitement just isn't there anymore. I remember years past going to KB Toys (when I had little kids) really early in the morning, and people being friendly and helpful. We split up and were at different stores and had to use walkie talkies (showing my age, now). Standing outside Kohl's with Santa hats singing Christmas songs hours before the store opened, even got our picture in the local paper. And friendly customers, too, willing to pass things back to you. Not so much anymore. Walmart has always been a mess. Probably 25 years ago turned our back on our shopping cart, and it disappeared. Last time I was there standing by some video games, I got knocked over into the display. Haven't been back. About eight years ago was standing outside Best Buy in a long line, and as soon as the doors opened, people rushed and cut in line. Overwhelmed the security. Never really had an issue with Staples, Office Depot, Office Max, but that is a different clientele. Last year went to Dick's Sporting Goods, was first in line 45 minutes before the store opened, and only six people in line when the brick and mortar store opened. Of course, it's Dick's, but..... BF has really changed, and online shopping is going to impact the brick and mortar stores even more as they all compete for the almighty dollar. I think what we will likely see less of are those people willing to take days off from work and camp out outside Best Buy as those items will be available online. If the servers can hold up to the traffic.
  14. I'm hoping that Fitbit will lower their price on their new Charge 3, or at least bundle it with some goodies.
  15. Kohls may not get any of my money this holiday season. After more than 10 years of being outside the store before opening, I will just refuse this year. Who do I complain to?
