  1. I very much dislike the midnight openings. For the last 19 my daughter and I have made a day of shopping on Black Friday starting @ 3 or 4 a.m. On Thankdsgiving day, her and I would pour over all the ads and decide where we were going and what we were going to "try" and buy. Back then you had to stand in line to get Elder Beerman's $10 coupon which was good on almost everything (not like it is now with 1/2 of the store being excluded ~ the doorbusters were also inlcuded). Well each year I would pick her up, we would stop and get coffee and go stand in line. After we got the coupon we would go to Macy's (Lazarus back then) and get their $10 coupon and from then on we had everything planned out where we would go. To me, the midnight openings, along with the store policy changes, has taken away the fun we use to have. Oh well I guess the younger generation can create their own memories and traditions.
  2. As you know by know this is almost impossible to get a hold of but if you can find one and the store price matches ~ Toys R Us has it in their big book for $59.99.
  3. No crazy stories to tell but just wanted to say that BF has became a tradition for my daughter and I about 17 years ago when she was pregnant with my 1st grandchild. Since then I pick her up every year between 4 and 5:00 a.m., stop and get coffee and go to our first destination. Two years ago my granddaughter started going with us and really enjoyed it so she has become apart of our BF experience. Maybe it's in her system since she actually started the experience "in the womb".:)
  4. I don't have a copy of the ad but just to let every one know, the Thanksgiving day sale is on Meijers website @ www.meijer.com
  5. Just wanted to let you know - the ad is showing on tru.com but I'm not able to open it. Maybe you will be more successful.:)
  6. Hi - Although I am new to the posting part of the site I've used the BF ad part of the site for the last couple of years and thoroughly love it. Prior to getting the ads on Thanksgiving day I already know where I'm going bright and early the day after. Thank you for all your hard work and keeping us posted on what's going on.
