  2. I know the policy is they will price adjust one time, so long as the item was not on clearance when you made the initial purchase. It depends on if its an online vs. store price too. (you have to compare apples to apples). I cant seem to find it in writing. If its an online purchase, then you should be able to call the local store and ask them for a #.
  3. I heard about it too.. i was actually in Walmart yesterday returning something else and the lady next to me was returning a Hampster and Wheel (NIB!) and talking about the chemical stories. I snapped them up and purchased them right off the returns counter when she finished lol. Ive seen people posting on Craigslist (charlotte, NC) that theyll buy your ZhuZhu's for face value due to the recall that was issued. Its all a scam, no recall was issued, though I do hear there are "some actual concerns" over the past two days.

As for my neices.. they are getting the dang Zhu Zhus i about went crazy trying to get. !

  4. I want to buy a skin for my DD's new netbook, but the brand isn't showing. Do you think it will be fine if I choose any 10.1 netbook as the device?

Just FYI, a lot of times they do not carry certain devices because the skins do not remove properly from the device. I called them about my laptop last year (not being on their list) and they fore-warned me of this. I ordered one anyway (as a generic) and it DID mess up the laptop exterior finish when I eventually removed it. They simply do not remove from some surfaces easily. So... if you have a device with a glossy finish of any sort and its not on the list... be careful!

I love SKINIT for the most part!! Just placed a $200 order for the custom skins, its awesome.. a great way to put someones name on an item too. I had "It this ipod doenst have your name on it, keep your hands off" put onto my sons new ipod touch cover lol. (had his name on the other side)

  5. My boyfriend lost a fortune just trying to "bid" on one item. Instead of trying to explain the whole ordeal, i found this on the web.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Looks like a basic scam to me. Basically, once the number of bids reaches a number that is equal to 87% of the numeric value of the cost of the item to the website, the website has fully covered its costs.

The reason for this is, bidding starts at $0.15, each bid increases the price by $0.15, and each bid costs $1.00 upfront. As a result, for each bid made on an item, the website is guaranteed to receive $1.15 - $1 upfront from the bidder, plus the additional $0.15 the eventual winner will have to pay on account of that bid.

Thus, what matters is not the final price at which the auction closes, but the number of bids made in the interim.

It is this aspect that makes this website a scam because it is basically, as far as I can tell, intentionally designed to lure people who are used to bidding on eBay with the illusion of very low final auction prices, and to leverage off the ingrained habit learned from eBay of getting into bidding wars where each bid ups the price by a very small increment - which is costless on eBay because bids don't cost money, but which can quickly become very costly here.

For example, if the website auctions off a TV that they paid $100 for, all they need to have happen in order for their costs to be covered is for 87 bids to be placed on the TV. At that point, they've received $87 upfront from the costs of bids, and will in due time receive $13.05 from the winning bidder (plus, of course, their "small fee" for running the auction - the vigorish in the equation).

What's interesting about this is that, even though the item seller has fully recouped its cost of goods sold, the winning bidder will only pay $13.05 as the final price of the good - from the outside this looks like an astounding deal, since what everyone sees immediately is just the winning bid.

That, I think, is essentially misleading, because it implies that something can be had for a song when, in fact, it's been fully paid for, in the main by the losing bidders.

Essentially, even though the winner is determined by individual action and not by chance, this is basically a very expensive lottery ticket because, each time a bid is made, the bidder is paying $1 and taking the chance that no-one else will come along after and make a higher bid. Paying money up front for the chance to get something at less than fair market value is gambling, or the lottery.

  6. You get much further with honey... I would professional outline what you have gone through. Emphasize the fact that because you like shopping at Sears in the first place, you purchased the extended warrenty for the product etc. Explain your level of patience and how you spent cold holidays with your family because of this issue. Attacking a business once youve decided you need to go "higher up" the management chain is never a good way to start. It will be the first time that this person hears of your story and they always respond better if they feel there is a futher customer to keep. Its hard to do everything to make someone happy if they are already starting with "ill never shop there again" kind of attitude. I would ask for a new system, yours sounds like a lemon anyway!

Good luck, sorry to hear about the chilly issues youve had.
