  1. Any deals on PlayStation 4 console/bundles?

Kohls has the best deal at $249 with $75 KC, but I don't shop at Kohl's much and they're one of the worst stores on BF, so I'm going to get one at Walmart ($30 GC).

I'm really disappointed in the price this year.  $249 has been the going BF sale price for the past 3-4 years.  But I need to replace a broken one, so I really have no choice.

  2. "Is it just me or do the ads suck this year?"

I've been saying that for years!

While there may good deals on tvs, usually there are, I don't need any.

I would like to replace a broken PS4, and I'm disappointed that going BF price is $249 - that's been the price for the past few years.  But Kohls has the KC which makes it a decent deal, but I don't shop at Kohls a lot, so not too excited about it.

So far, my enthusiasm with regards to the ads is on par with going to the dentist.

  3. Walmart told me that they will only be selling them online and not in the stores.  Can anyone confirm that??  Their online prices are outrageous.  Luckily, I don't need one, but my neighbor is looking for one for her daughter, so I always check when I'm out.

  4. This reminds me of when my son was little and some kid at school told him there was no Santa. He replied "!there has to be a Santa, my Mom can't afford all that stuff" LOL

    That's funny!

Thanks everyone for the replies.   I've got a lot a good comebacks now!

  5. My kids have kind of out-smarted me.

They're asking for some really expensive things this year.  When I told him that's too much money, my oldest says, "I'll ask Santa.  It's free if it comes from Santa!"  When I said that even Santa has a budget, he said, "Santa doesn't use money, mom, he uses Christmas magic!"

I'm to the point where I want to say, "Mom is Santa, and mom uses money not magic!"

What do you say to your kids without ruining the secret about Santa??

  6. My parents bought a 4K 3D tv (I believe an LG) earlier this year.  Honestly, I wouldn't have known the difference if they hadn't told me.  I don't mind wearing glasses to watch a 3D movie in a theater, but no way do I want to wear glasses in my living room just to watch tv!  The 3D models don't appeal to me.  Although the picture on the 4K was beautiful, it wasn't obviously noticeable to me.

  7. We were at Target around 8:30 Thursday night and it was busy in there, but not insane. Crowded, but manageable. Went over to Walmart about an hour later and it was dead in there. Like, weird dead. Hardly any shoppers, hardly any noise, the employees were wheeling pallets of canned goods back to where they belonged. We made a lap, my brother was very confused, and then we left. Now, I was in there on Sunday just grabbing some groceries and was surprised to see all the Black Friday movie displays still packed with DVD's!! I've never seen that before, usually those cardboard displays are ripped apart at our store. So what happened? Did they not pull them out in the first place? Do people not go for the cheap DVD's anymore? It was strange.

I had a very similar experience with Walmart.  I got there after 8.  I expected it to be busy, but was hoping that the lines had thinned by then, but it was fairly empty.  They still had a lot of the doorbusters left over, like the Roku tv, but the movies and DVDs were gone!  There was only a few titles available.

I went yesterday to pick up a prescription and perused around a bit, and am thinking they must have had returns, because I saw some items that I didn't see before.  Gone were all the tvs...I doubt that they sold all of them because they had entire pallet filled with the Roku tvs and they didn't seem to be moving...maybe transferred them to another store?  All the cheap DVDs were thrown in one box, but there were titles in there that I didn't see on Thanksgiving.

Overall, the entire Walmart experience was just bizarre.

  8. Best Buy - Chromebook

    Gymboree - clothes

I couldn't get my order to go through at Target, but no biggie there.

I didn't buy much this year - even with BF and CM combined!  I didn't need/want anything, didn't really see anything in the ads I found enticing, but I was able to get everything on my son's list and then some.
