Just an FYI, if you are bringing hard copies to price match, make sure to guard your papers. I had people steal the ads right out of my cart last year at WM and I was not the only person it happened to.
you have got to be kidding me....I have heard of people stealing things out of carts, but flyers too?!? What in God's name has got into these people?

Just bought two from TRU...had to fight for the price though. They thought that it didn't start till 3pm.

I was wondering when the hard copies of the black friday ads come out....I am going to attempt to price match at some stores and know that I'll need hard copies of the ads for proof of the prices. Any ideas? Oh, by the way, I live in New Hampshire, if that will help.

I is nice to see that I wasn't the only one that thought sears was pulling something fishy. That so-called F&F night they had, I ordered the Blu-ray player at 6:03pm online and I was told that it wasn't in stock. I wasn't even trying to do in-store pick-up. I e-mailed customer service and this was thier response...

>>Dear Mr. ***,
Thank you for contacting sears.com.>
At what point did the Sharp Blu-ray Disc™ Player, AQUOS® Sears item # 05757968000 Mfr. model # BDHP21U show that it was sold out? I went to the page where you would enter your credit card information and the site did not show that the item was sold out.
Of course, if you were doing a buy on line pick up at store purchase it is very possible that the store may have sold out since most stores open at 10 am. Even without the F & F discount the $179.99 price is still a great price for a blu-ray player.
Thank you for your time and patience in this matter. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

Now I see why I have never bought anything from them.

I was in Walmart the other night. They have only tubes and LCDs in my store -- a few tubes and a LOT of LCDs. They were running a sports video and I just could not deal with the image quality. This sounds stupid, but it wasn't so obvious that I could see it -- it was just something I could perceive (like the flicker of a fluorescent bulb). I think I would have HUGE buyer's remorse if I replaced my 36" tube (Sony 4:3 SDTV) with one of these.
Having only watched these in a store, I got to wondering if the lighting was the real culprit. Any long time LCD owners who are sports fans care to comment on the viewing experience?
Just to keep this on topic, I predict a $300 37" lcd and a $500 42" lcd for BF.
You need to understand that all stores use a very "dirty" signal for their LCD's and plasmas....definitely not HDTV quality. Also, they use the factory settings for the displays. I have a 32" LCD and I watch football, baseball, and basketball with it and it looks very good. I do not have HDTV even. If you tune the TV when you get it home, you will be much impressed.

By far, this has been a depressing showing of Black Friday deals...Last year I purchased $1300 worth of stuff for a measley $500. I don't know if its the economy or just greed, but this is not what I expected.

I have a PS3 and have seen both regular DVDs and Blu-rays on it ....and the differance to me is night and day. I agree that the PS3 is the best way to go in regards to a Blu-ray player....was watching "Mythbusters" tonight and saw three Blu-ray advertisments for them so they are certainly trying to get people to switch. A little known fact about the PS3 is that it can also surf the web. I hope that Ill be able to find another Sony Blu-ray player for the bedroom at a good price. Only time will tell. Happy Thanksgiving everyone and don't forget to thank a vet for your freedom.

My sister works at Best Buy ( no info on BF, by the way) and with her discount (which is something like 10% above cost....don't quote me) she paid like 7 dollars for a 40 dollar cable.....THE MARK-UP ON CABLES IS HUGE

I went to that Best Buy members only invite last night and I gotta say I was extremely dissappointed. First, they put a new section in for musical instruments. Real ones, not the game system ones. Second, their deals were not that good. If this is any indication of their BF deals, I'm not going to bother going there for BF.
