  1. First of all there is a chance it might be ticketed since most of the computers are in the stock room and they bring it out for you. I would not count on it being there at 6am. I'd have to look at the ad to know for sure how many are available and how much of a discount, but lot of people that don't get one of the other computers they came in for will often go for the next cheapest until all the onein the ad are gone. As far as the line goes, by 6am I would plan to stand at the checkout a minimum of about 2 hours.

OK looked at the ad. $490 of regular price, minimum 1 per store (if I read it right, ery blurry even magnified to 200%). I would say the chances of getting it even standing on the line for under about 10 hours is slim depending on where you live.

I should start taking requests for items people want. Not looking to profit from it but I will be there early enough to get anything in the ad.

I thought it said a minimum of 6 per store.....

So are u saying that I would need to camp out to get it?

Whats this about you taking requests for items? How does it work?

Would there still be a line infront of the store (as in all the campers did not go inside yet) at 6am? or would it just be hecktic inside?

  2. Could really have gone either way. Good deals to get more people in the store andhope they buy other non sale items, or bad deals since all these retailers lose money on the doorbuster items in hope that they buy enough other items to make a profit. After seeing the ad it seems CC went with the optio of hoping that by offering some good deals on lower cost (and lower risk) items they could get some people in the store. I also noticed the laptop that C has appears to be the same specs as the one BB has for $379, except CC has it for full price of $649, which is the retail price listed for the BB item being sol for $379. If they keep going this way they will be closing another 155 stores in 2009.

Yea I see what u mean.....

Overall CC seems to have better deals this year than BB though In my opinion but BB has better computer deals...

    CC=Next possible CompUSA?

  3. Is there a specific person I ask for when I call to ask about it? Or just any sales associate should know? And Is the majority of the crowd gone by 6 am or would there still be a huge line of people?
  4. Neither say they're doorbusters, but odds are both will be ticketed and you'll need to be one of the first few dozen in line to get 'em. More likely the people in front of the line will want the sub-$400 laptop but none of the cheaper laptops or desktops last very long. The $599 one has a minimum of 6 per store and the $299 one has a minimum of 10.

What happens in a case where they dont give out all the tickets?

I want the 599 desktop but dont/cant be out all night the earliest I can get to bestbuy is 6am...think they would still have it? and along with that at 6am would the store still be crowded and a line out in front (as they only let a certain amount of ppl in i think)?

  5. I actually always called before the ads were released, they are normally pretty nice about it and if it has a 8xxxx model number they are able to tell you how many they will have in stock. No, it most likely will not be a hot item.

how can i tell if it has a 8xxxx model number? I kno the number on the HP's site is the

a6614f and thats what HP identifies it by......so if i called now they would know how many they would have and the buying procedure? srry for all the questions this is my first BF at BB or better yet first BF at anything I never woke up early

  6. ok how would i find out if its ticketed? Lol I dont want to call a Best Buy now and ask and have them question me (like question me for a crime) about where i got the information.....

But do you think its going to be a "hot" item?

  7. Does anyone know the exact model number of the items included? the ad scan posted is too blurry on my computer and I cant tell the numbers/letters...Its the 599.99 one with a 21in monitor, and printer...

Are there any rebates on it? (doesnt look like it) and is the Anti-Virus soft ware included?

Anyone here going to get it? Think it will be a door buster (not in technical terms cause its not but I mean will ppl be jumping and killing each other for it)? If I got there at 6am-7am would it still be crowded or would ppl have left by then? And think they would still have it?

  8. Welcome to the community! BB and CC will have special model and SKU numbers made for BF items to prevent people from Price Matching. They have become very aggressive in this over the past few years. BB also will tell the computer makers to downgrade the RAM so you are forced to buy more memory.

Wait but if they downgrade the RAM from the advertised amount of RAM (in the BF Leaked Ad) isnt that False Advertising? Or do you mean that they will downgrade before they post on the Ad? I dont want to be walking into the store buying a 1gb ram computer when it was advertised to have 6 gb....

  9. I totally agree. The best so far is Best Buy and that's not even too great. With Circuit City filing bankrupcy I didn't expect too much from them, it was actually a little better than I expected bu still no place as good as last year. Unless these stores do something to get people to come in I can't see too many people rushing to the stores with the deals posted so far, which accounts for the major ones.

I thought the exact opposite on Circuit City...I thought since they are going down in debt and need money they would give good deals to get customers to come to get deals at a good price to the people but make money for them if they buy a mass bulk sale so that ppl would not be dissapointed. I think the main stores this year are going to be Walmart, Staples, Office Stores, and possibly Bestbuy but much less than last year

  10. I dont think the 360 has any hard drives attached to the side.....It has one on the top which is the primary which comes normally on the Premium/Mid priced one, and a bigger one on the Elite...The Core system or cheapest on the other hand does not come with one. They may be selling a Core system (alot less features such as wired controller, normally no hard drive, etc. all the big features) with a refurbed hard drive which would make sense seeing that if they were to have a second HD on the other systems the actual system would kind of have to be modified in a way that would cancel the Microsoft Warranty (which is needed in case of "Rings of Death" which is common now adays)
  11. I totally agree that its horrible...From what I remember last year the deals were much better. But Im interested in the HP for the quad core processor and the price. I mean I dont want to get there and see it sold out....if i called would they tell if it is sold out? Online? This is my first year out for BF
  12. I'm hearing BB is going to have an HP desktop for $199. Just a rumor at this time and they don't usually have it in their original printed add, only posted on their website the day before to keep people like us from announcing it too soon :cheesy: As far as CC they love rebates on most of the best deals are rebate items. As for recommendations get there early. Not as early as BB but you will need to be there ealy enough if you want to get the best deals.

How early is early? Is 2 AM Thanksgiving Night Into Black Friday meaning fridays early morning ok?

  13. Try looking it up on www.Cnet.com they give great reviews so does amazon!

My brother has a Acer Laptop and he loves it..he's 11 and let me tell you that thing drops off his bed all the time and its still going a year later...LoL

If you run out now and get the Sunday paper you can get the CC and BB ads for tomorrow!! hahahah thats the best I can do!! LoL :tongue1:

Lol I meant the BF ads haha I wish I could get them in the Newspaper now but probably wont be in the paper for 2 weeks.....

  14. Im kind of new to this forum but as it looks from the posts/threads you the members are great deal finders so I was wondering if you guys could help me find a good desktop deal. Im looking to spend up to $600 or $700 max for a desktop preferably HP, Dell, Compaq, or any reputable brands that are good (please no emachines or anything like that ive had bad experience with them). The things needed are the monitor, mouse, keyboard, the things you need to have a whole desktop computer. Preferably 4+gb ram/memory but 3gb would do, preferably a 500gb harddrive but 320 would do, and obviously a flat panel monitor. I guess now its up to you guys for find some decent deals for me...Ive looked around the non-sales kind of places and couldnt find anythng but maybe you can? Also looking to buy between now and the end of November so any Black Friday deals would be good.
