I have done Big Lots on BF for the video games. You need to be one of the first 10 people in the store as they only carry a small quantity and everyone just grabs and goes.
Thank you so much! I think what I'll do then is see if there's a line to get in around 5:30 and make my decision based on that. Our closest Big Lots isn't a high traffic store, but I don't know what it looks like on BF so I'll play this one by ear.

I See the ad scans on the black Friday page, but I don't see a Big Lots Ad Posted post in the forum with the PDFs. I'm in the mobile version if gottadeal, but I usually don't have any problems. What's up?

I'm thinking about stopping by Big Lots before JCP on Friday morning to check out the B2G2 video games, but I've never done Big Lots on BF before do I'm not sure what to expect. Do you guys think the games will be worth a look? At this point I will be exhausted, I'm sure.

Oh, and congratulations to all the gottadeal mama's!

so now i always pack those items - even though i'm not pg - and have no plans of more children, because that was not a scenario i ever want to repeat. it was really scary. i've never needed that juice and crackers, but who knows, i might someday or someone in line near me might.
then i could pay it forward.
Such a great tip there! I also like to have some snacks in my purse just in case. You just never know.
Also, 11 pounds!!? You win. Lol. Mine were tiny, each boy was under 7 lbs. I shopped while pregnant but they were both spring babies so I wasn't very far along. Just grumpy and tired.

Oh geez, I really hope they don't do that again this year and it was just an experiment. I need one thing from Target and don't feel like spending 2 hours getting to the cash register.
-
Hahaha!!! I need a security system for my shop!
-
Last year was the first time that my local Target did the TRU thing and made everyone wait in one gigantic roped-off line to get to the employee who directed you to a check out lane. They used to just have a few employees around the check out lanes to help move it along. I'm wondering if everyone's Target did this and if so does anyone know if they're doing it that way this year? It took so long last year we ended up putting our stuff down and leaving. If they're doing it again I might skip them and just move on.

Just saw this thread.
Good lord, I hope not!
I'm dying! I thought the same thing! I've already told my husband this shop is closed. Haha

The Wii portal takes batteries but the Xbox version has a cord attached. We have both versions for both systems.
Oops sorry! I just assumed they were the same. We have the wii version.

Hmm...I think I like your plan...this is my first year doing BF shopping (and I'm not even from the US so I'm a SERIOUS rookie! lol)...maybe I'll steal...uhm...I mean "borrow" your strategy...lol
Oh by all means, borrow away!
I've got TRU and Kohls at the end because their lines to get to the check outs take forever. This way I can go in at the end and check some stuff out and then decide if it's worth waiting in line.

One thing I noticed when I was out yesterday is that I have to be careful on what I think is a BF sale. I needed a basketball for DD and was planning on getting one on BF. I got the one I wanted yesterday for only a dollar more than BF price (it was on sale) so I went ahead and bought it. Very thankful for the ads so I can make better decisions on what to buym where to buy it and when to buy it.
I completely agree! I've been able to pick up 4 video games at black Friday or almost black Friday prices in the past couple weeks.
While I'm actually very pleased with the sales we're seeing this year compared to the last two years of lackluster sales, I'll admit that I also use my ads as a reference point to grab as many things ahead if time as I can.

I just had a reality check. BF is next week!!!! Well guess I need to get a plan together.
It's really coming up quickly! I believe I heard that this is the earliest in November that Black Friday can be, on the 23rd.

This is a deal for Shop Your Way Rewards members. I was up at Kmart today buying video games (buy $45 worth of games right now and you get a $15 game coupon that's good even on BF!) and saw a 3DS deal I wanted to share. They have the 3DS for $154.99 and you'll get a printed receipt coupon for $30 for any video game $30 and up from 11/18-12/8. Pretty sweet deal, I thought!
-
Then divide and check out. I hope to get the usual (games, DVDs, PJs) but maybe get a new vacuum and a steam mop for the kitchen.
I got my steam mop 2 years ago on BF and picked one up for my mom last year and we live them!
I live your divide and conquer plan.

I got a Spyros Starter set. I hope it is all my grandson needs to start playing the game. Does anyone know? They were out of the Giants. I don't know the difference.
Does he have the first game? If not then you're good, because that's what you bought. It comes with the game, the portal of power, and a few figures.you'll just need some AA batteries for the portal. If he does already have the first game then you will need the one that says Skylanders Giants, which is the second game.

Kmart has a Craftsman 19.2 volt drill for $40 as part of their 3-day sale starting on Thanksgiving. Thats the one I'm looking at, anyway.
-
I'm hoping to get some of the Craftsman stuff from Kmart, the 1/2 off pillow pets, some other stuff from Kmart, cheap DVDs and video games from Walmart as well as that big Avengers action figure set for my ds8, the $40 6-lane hot wheels track at Target is a great deal, and I want that $8 minecraft shirt from JCP for my baby bro. I'm also planning on stopping in Kohls to check out jewelry and scarves for my girlfriends and get some Kohls cash.
-
I love all the preparation! It's getting close now.
-
Ok here we go, I have my plan:
Thursday morning: Kmart, some online shopping
Thursday night (probably starting around 9:30): Walmart, Target, TRU, Kohls
Come home and sleep for a few hours
Friday morning: JCP, some online shopping and strong coffee
I'm dying to know where your black Friday travels are taking you this year! Do you store-hop like I do or do you stick to one store? Are you shopping online?

I will be getting that Minecraft t-shirt for my addicted son!
I'm so glad you posted that! I totally missed it on my first look. My 14- year-old baby brother is obsessed with that game and wants a shirt, and you can't beat $8! Thanks!
