  1. I have the ipad for $329 and really like it.  I also have a kindle fire and will probably get the new fire on BF this year for when we travel.  It is a lower cost alternative for my husband that is not really that much a tech person.  It depends on what you want to use the tablet for.  I use the iPad for everything from reading to watching movies to some games.  The kindle will have prime so some movies, shows, etc.

  2. I always get a new set or two every year...it brings me joy to toss out the old, ugly, stained ones from the year prior! (Wasteful? Yes. But I'm too OCD to care lol)

My OCD husband would have a coronary if I tried to toss ours out.  May have to do it when he is watching football.  lol

  3. It is amazing the drama that comes out during the holidays.  I have to put up with a lot of drama but thankfully not in my own home.  My mother said my husband was bullying her.  The sad part is I was right there at the time and all he did was state that it would be very helpful for us if we could eat at 1pm instead of 2pm twice.  We gave up and show up for what we can and if we have to go to Jack in the Box to eat until we can eat with his family later in the day, then that is what we do.  It is hurtful for me, but you can not change people.  You set your expectations and limits and try to enjoy the holidays.  It is only a few days a year after all.  Good luck :runaway:

  4. I'm potentially interested in a mini, but am considering grabbing one model or another this year, as the Kindle Fire I bought last year is nice, but doesn't have access to some of the apps and things I was hoping to use it for. (My fault - should have done more research!)

What can't you get on the fire?  That was something I was considering instead?

  5. There are fake gift boxes out there with weird names of things supposedly in the box.  You could get one of those and put the gift card in one of those.  You could do a scavenger hunt for the gift card. Hide them in insulated tumblers, a box of file folders, or even a pinata.  Anything little you can open can become a gift card holder so long as it is big enough for the card.  Take a picture of the family (or the store for the card - the looks you would get would be priceless) and hide it behind the picture (just make sure they find the card).
