  1. Great deal - thanks for the tip! With deals like this - it's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas :)
  2. 1. Ipod touch for each of our older kids 2. PS 3 games on super sale 3. Wii game accessories 4. New Digital camera/camcorder 5. New HD TV for hubby
  3. I am lucky enough to live in an area where the local newspaper comes out in the afternoon. This means the BF ads are out in papers Wednesday evening, so I can have all of Wed. evening to strategize. The next morning I head out early for the K-Mart Thanksgiving Day sale. Then I come home and prepare the meal so we can eat around one. Then I have all evening to cut out pictures, write down sizes, colors and develop the schedule and assignments for my shopping team which usually consists of about 12-15 people. We have 7 children, most of which are teenagers or college students. And they in turn enlist their friends or girlfriends to help. Black Friday is a big event in our household - I sometimes think our kids look more forward to Black Friday than they do Christmas morning! (I know I do!)
  4. I am ashamed to admit, but it is Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer. Teenage daughters got me hooked on the Twilight Series last year. I read two of the books in one weekend! Needless to say, did not get much done that weekend. My Mother-in-Law's book club is reading the series now. So for those who think it is just another Tween series, think again! The average age of the women in her book club is about 60 - and they are obsessed wtih it now too. Can't wait for the New Moon movie to come out next month!
  5. We normally head out around 4 am and are done by 7:30-8:00 am. We have it down to a science :)
  6. Our family has been doing the BF thing for about 10 years now.
  7. In our home, BF is a family tradition. We have 6 children (mostly teenagers) and a niece (also a teenager) who lost her parents in a car accident. Last year we had 12 people in our shopping party. My sister was visiting from Dallas with her husband and we had help from a couple of our teenagers' friends/girlfriends. It takes some planning making sure we don't send one of the kids after their own gifts and making sure they don't see them - but with a little planning (OK - ALOT of planning!!!) we manage. I stumbled upon this website a few years ago and it has been a godsend. Now instead of staying up all night the night before Thanksgiving pouring over the ads, clipping pictures and mapping out everyone's schedules, shopping lists and time tables and then having to prepare a big meal and entertain all day Thursday - I can start a few weeks in advance. My husband says I spend more time and effort planning Black Friday than they did invading Normandy - so I guess the bigger my infantry - the better Sadly - I don't think my sister is coming back up this year to join the festivities - go figure
