  1. The ones around me aren't closing however there''s one an hour and a half away which i might swing by to see what kind of closeout deals they have but i don''t know if i should go wednesday or wait a little while, when do you think you would be able to get the best stuff at the best prices?

I hope this doesn't turn out like Linens N Things.....one day they announce a few store closings then next thing I know they are all closing.

I didn't even know they're in the process of going out of business until i just read this.... wow, now i feel dumb...lol

  2. Some manufacturers have a minimum advertised price (MAP) for certain items and stores can't show the actual final price if it is below that amount, so they show the regular price and savings and let you do the match to get around the rule.

Ok thanks for the info, i never had any idea.

  3. Does anyone else find it weird that in the ad, some of the prices are the final prices, after rebates and instant savings. However some of the items say the price before instant savings or rebates or such. What does this mean? (For example the 42" plasma panasonic 'says 999 before 300 instant savings, yet the dvd/vcr player a few items below it says 49 after mail in rebates and instant savings.) Why would they do ea'ch item differently?
  4. I was just curious, I know they start usually at midnight TG day, but how do you get the items for sure? When you add them to your cart can you go shop for another online doorbuster or do you have to quickly pay for that item and then go try to find another one just to be sure you get it? I'm a little confused if they count the quantity currently in people's carts as quantity already accounted and don't try to sell it again.

    Thanks,

    David

  5. I keep getting so tempted to stop at KMart on my way to my parents place each year, cause I leave so early I usually end up passing by two different Kmarts about an hour or so before they open on TG. And one that is right off the 99 freeway. I have yet to see what the crowds look like there on TG though, may be worth it, may be a bust who knows. But I do get that itchy feeling when I see that big red K closing in on me as I am flyin down the freeway. :D This might be the year!

Well the kmart I was at didn't have a large line (I was first at 3am) but people who got there an hour or two before they opened even got the 32" HDTV last year for 499, which was what most of the people came for. So, I would say if there's something you want in their ad, you probably have a good shot at it.

  6. I usually don't like to go shopping on TG (like to save energy for BF), but last year was my first time as I needed to get a Wii, so I waited in line a Kmart from like 3am-7am TG day so I could get the wii, and then had to do it all over again the next day...

    :yuck:

Not something I will do again unless I have to!
