Reporting back on attempting to use one of the toy 25% Off coupons.
They have Furreal Friends Cookie for $46.99 on sale, so $35.24 After coupon. Well that sale price for Cookie is good until 12/24, I asked the lady to check. The coupon is good until 12/24.
So, I'm going to be daring, and wait another week or two - for another price drop or to find it cheaper elsewhere. If not, looks like we may be getting it there. I would rather pay $30 or less for it.
Now, tried seeing how much the Ace Bayou Video Game Chair is (There's a $5 off coupon) - sales floor staff were not able to find it. And I can't find it online. Anyone have a price on it?
Toys R Us has Cookie on sale for $29.99. HTH

My DD who will be 7 the week before Christmas asked Santa for a Kindle Fire. The list she gave to Mom included DS games, Wii games, Lalaloopsy stuff, CDs and DVDs, UGGs and clothes.

There is ALWAYS a choice. I stayed home last year because I didn't have someone to watch my child.
We are so wrapped up in giving our kids every single thing they ask for, imo. My mom raised 4 girls alone working as a waitress. I rarely got what was on my Xmas list since she focused on what she could afford. I never complained or even thought of my list on Xmas morning. I was just thrilled to be playing with what I DID get.
I think if these kids could choose they'd rather not be dropped on a Walmart floor or hit with shopping carts and be home than have a particular toy they merely requested on a list.
A letter to Santa is not a binding contract. They'll survive if they don't get THE toy- and they'll survive bodily harm!
Couldn't have said it better myself!!!

Does the 10% off coupon have a code for ordering online? Anyone have one that they can check? They pulled it from target.com.
The one in the "Making Savings Bright" book that I got in the mail does NOT have an online code. I don't have the printed version from the website to check. Maybe somebody else out there still has one of those they can check for you.

Does the Kindle Fire allow you to download books from the library? I have a Nook, but I am seriously considering the Fire. My girls would love it. Thank you for any input!
Yes you can borrow books from the library on the Kindle Fire.

A couple of years ago, my sister and I went to Kmart on Thanksgiving and we were talking to one of the associates and we apologized that she had to work that day for our selfish wants. She told us to not feel bad at all about it. She said that everyone working that day was done on a volunteer basis and that she needed the overtime and didn't mind working at all. I've never worked retail, but I have worked a job where I was required to work holidays, including Christmas Day. We were either rotated on a holiday schedule or the supervisors took volunteers first and then rotated the rest of us. I would venture to say that most employers have some type of "fair" system for who works when.

but it doesn't have expandable storage and most tablets (excluding the overpriced iPad) have that. And in order to access the Cloud, you need wifi. You could side load video, etc, via the usb...but would the format work? And you are limited to Amazon's app market....you don't get the full market access for Android. I'm not sold, not even with the Netflix and Hulu Apps.
As for expandable storage, I'm no where near maxing out my iPhone, iPod, computer or anything else. So I think the 8GB will be plenty sufficient for my DD's needs. We have wifi at home, work, school, and every McDonald's across the nation. From just my brief looking around at apps, it seems there are more than enough on Amazon's market to suit just about any need we may have (including the MUST HAVE Angry Birds). As a mom trying to get the most for her money, I feel like I got wayyyyy more than I paid for compared to the prices for anything comparable to the Fire.

Walmart map
in 2011
Ours were dead on accurate. It made things sooooo much easier!!!I wouldn't rely on the maps too much b/c they are rarely correct. Most store employees can't even tell you where certain items are located even after the sale starts.

Thanks Brad!!!

Oh it works alright....and quite well at that!!! I'm totally sold on it. Very quick response, bright, clear graphics, good sound....iPad has some fierce competition. It may only be half the size, but it has all of the performance at a third of the price. If anyone is on the fence about the Kindle Fire, pull the trigger. You won't be sorry!!!Well you need to make sure it works.

The Kindle Fire I preordered was delivered today. I ordered it for my DD for Christmas. I don't think I can wait until then to open it and mess around with it.....as a matter of fact, I will probably have it opened shortly after getting home from work!!!

Thank you emilygracesmom! I would have never known about the coupon. It saved me $19.50 and my red card saved me an additional $7.78 + there's a $20 Target gift card with the purchase of any Ipod Touch this week. I didn't want to gamble on them running out on bf. $167.72 + a 20GC was good enough for me (:
You're very welcome. I actually found that deal in another thread on GD so I can't really take the credit for finding it!!
