My fiance is a mail carrier and gets all kinds of gifts inculding money! So yes, of course we give our mail carrier a small gift :)

[What were your Hits and Misses last Black Friday?]

I did great last year. I was in line at 4:45 at Sears for a video camera, somehow was first in line inside when they opened the doors, was the first to check out and be gone. Was in line at target at 5:10 and got the ticket for the t.v. and got guiter hero before it was gone as well. I was done and going through the starbucks drive thru at like 6:30 and the guy asked if I was going shopping. I was like...honey I'm DONE.

I love doing this! This year I'm going to let my 9 year old son pick a child and shop for them as well. I've usually done it myself but I think it will be a great thing for my son to do every year.

Christmas Tree Cakes!! They are my weakness.

 

We are planning on starting a new tradition this year. We live about 3 hours from Gatlinburg. This year we are planning on taking a day trip up there. There is this great place for breakfast, it's called The Pancake Pantry. It's in The Village. If you've ever been to Gatlinburg you probably know where I'm talking about. We are going to go early, eat breakfast when we get there (they serve till 2pm), then go shopping. There are some great little shops up there with gifts I couldn't get around here.

 

I live about 30 minutes from Gatlinburg! Have you ever been in the winter? Its GORGEOUS! If you havent been to Dollywood at Christmas you hafta go!! There's nothing like it.

Ive been trying to resist wrapping as well. I wont have anything to wrap at christmas time lol

Some people are just Scrooges. My cousin is. She always pouts at Christmas gatherings and says she hates the holidays. I just dont get it. But...sing along, listen to your Christmas songs, keep cheery thoughts. Dont let them get you down!

 

I like what someone else said about being a secret santa. maybe that will give them a poke.

I've always gone by myself. I dont want anyone to slow me down haha. This year tho, my GF says she's coming with me. We'll see how that works out. We may have to drive seperate depending on where I want to go for what...the clocks always ticking that day. Im not waiting for anyone! lol

I went shopping on BF when I was 8 1/2 months and it wasn't the best idea. I was fine until I was in line in a toy store squashed between a bunch of people. I got really hot and irritated lol but...alot of people were really nice and let me get my item ( a glow worm. yes i stood in frekin line for a glow worm) and get out. I probably wouldnt do it again.

[How long do you normally stay out on Black Friday?]

I'm usually done by lunch time and ready to eat then I'll go home and wrap what I got that morning and then may go back out that afternoon and then we put up the tree that night!

Hello everyone! I'm Sarah from Knoxville TN. Have a 9 year old son (be 10 9 days before Christmas) and live with my girlfriend. I love reading about everyones stories :)

This year I;m planning on about $600 or so.

[What are some of your Black Friday traditions (besides shopping)?]

I love reading all of these. Makes me super excited!

 

I always plan out my route the night before and look at the ads 100 times to be sure. Usually make a list of where Im going and what Im getting from that store.

 

I was ecstatic when Target did the wake up calls by Kermit the frog haha. I wake up around 4 and throw on something warm and Im out!

 

I always stop by Starbucks on the way home (while blasting the Christmas songs on the radio) and go home to wrap! With the Christmas songs on of course.

 

I usually like going by myself but this year my girlfriend will be going with me. Just hope we can buy for eachother without peeking!

Most of the time it's Walmart, but it just depends who has the best deals and what I'm looking for. And of course...how bad I want it
