  1. I placed an order for 2 tv's online this morning around 6:00 which got cancelled about 45 minutes later. I was disappointed but figured oh well. Then, to my surprise, my wife receives an email which apologized for the cancellation as well as stating that they found a near by store that had them in stock and were ready for pickup there. My wife calls to verify and to her surprise, was told that they were locked in the back and ready for pickup. Talk about getting lucky!!!!

  5. For all the members that do most of their shopping online for Black Friday, do you actually get what you are after?  I have read from some people including a member on this forum that sometimes when the hot items are sold out in the stores, they are actually still available online. From your experience, how true is this?  Is it just getting lucky, or is it something that happens every year with the majority of the highly sought after items?  Reason I am asking is because I am thinking of doing the online shopping thing this year myself.  But, if I still have to battle everyone online by being super fast on the keyboard, I would rather just battle them in person. :gdlol:

Maybe it's just me, but I'm partial to #Swag.

    Like,

"This is what No Sleep #Swag Looks like"

Or "I got your Swag right here, and your Doorbuster"

Or: "You may have the Swag, but I've got your doorbuster"

Or:  "Gottadeal.com: More Swag than a Best Buy Camper"

Or:  Gottadeal.com: Doorbustin' Swag since 2004.

Good work.  I like the third one the best.

  7. Well to be technical, we did cover BF back in 2003, but it was on everydeal.com, not GD :P

This is the 10th year covering BF on GD and January 1st is the 10th Anniversary of the site's launch.

    So as for the shirts...

I have a GD "10 years" logo done (doesn't say the word anniversary or the word years - just the number 10 and 2004-2014.

The logo I came up with would probably work best with a grey shirt, so I'm leaning towards a grey BF shirt. Don't know if it'll be more a heather grey like the 2006 one I posted above (probably my favorite shirt we've had) or it'll be more a solid, slightly darker shade of grey. Both would work.

I'm thinking maybe put the "GD 10" logo on the front and then a catchy BF slogan/design on the back for people behind you to see/read. Because the shirt has the year 2014 on the logo, it could technically be used for this year and next and still be "timely" for those who don't like wearing shirts with older years on them. This year would be the 10th "year" of BF on GD, and next year would be the 10th anniversary of our first year of BF coverage on GD.

    LOL!!!!

  8. Not quite correct.  It is the nineth anniversary but it is still 10 years of Black Friday coverage.  Anniversary is like being married.  You only count as you finish the year. This will be the 10th year of covering Black Friday but the 9th anniversary.

If you read the previous posts, we are not talking about if we should use the wording (10 years) or not, we are talking about the word Anniversary being put on the shirt.

  9. Brad was right, this is the 10th anniversary.  count them: (1) 2004, (2) 2005, (3) 2006, (4) 2007, (5) 2008, (6) 2009, (7) 2010, (8) 2011, (9) 2012, (10) 2013.

No. Black Friday has been covered ten times in 9 years.  How can it be a ten year Anniversary when GottaDeal.com has only been around for 9 years?  You don't count 2004 as an Anniversary year since that is when GottaDeal.com started. Count them.
