Can I charge any batteries in the recharger? Or does it have to be the Duracell in the Duracell charger?

I am looking for rechargeable batteries for my Wii controllers. Does any one have any that are any good? I keep finding mixed reviews on them. The charging station people are saying only last about 4 months and it has ruined some controllers from getting to hot. Between my kids and the kids I am babysitting I am buying batteries like crazy.

Has anyone ever used this? I am looking to get a new phone but am not going to use my cell that much so I just wanted something short, so if its not worth it I don't have to worry about being stuck in a long contract.
