  1. Fiance and I were looking for a Samsung LED 55" TV... we saw an ad in the Los Angeles Times for $1999.00. We were weary since we'd never heard of the store name before but we slept in till 4:15am this morning, drove first to Sears in North Hollywood (opened doors at 4am) to see if they would price match. Sears refused so we got back into the car and headed to the store called MIR in West Los Angeles (opened doors at 6am), were in and out of the store in 15 minutes with no line, got perfect customer service and only paid $25 for delivery!:D:D This was not only a jaw dropping item as all other big name stores were selling the Samsung LED 55" for $2467 (give or take a few dollars) but NO ONE was even knocking down the doors when they were opening! Just one guy came rushing in wanting 4 TV's and was turned down by the store manager.

  3. The Van Nuys Staples store we went to did an AMAZING job as well! The manager was super nice and at 5am made an announcement to everyone in line about how things were going to work when the store opens. He then came around to everyone passing out the vouchers for each individual's requested items, and also specified where items were located in the store for those items that did not need vouchers. Other employees passed out donuts!! TWICE! Every 15 minutes, the manager checked thru the line to see if there were additional questions or voucher requests. He was patient, kind, and very helpful. At 6am, we were let into the store in groups of 10 every 5 minutes. There was plenty of staff inside to assist everyone and the shopping experience was very pleasant!!! I got everything I needed in a timely and respectable fashion.
  4. i live somewhat close to the van nuys CC and i think it's safe to say that many people skip turkey dinner altogether and line up early for the laptops and hdtv's. if you think 5pm is too early... maybe do a drive by before dinner and just scope out the crowds! in LA, lining up at midnight is just too late for doorbusters....
