  1. I just purchased the Panasoni 42PZ77U from Sears - I've been trying to post this deal for a few days now, but I believe this price is over TODAY! : ( you also have the option for 18months interest free finance if using a Sears card (or signing up)
  2. Sorry to bring the bad news guys, but Sears has the Panasonic TH-42PZ77U on sale for 1199.00 until the 17th. By far the best tv for this price ... actually it's probably the best tv you'll find for under 1500 or so ... Also, use your Sears card and get even more with a rebate or 18mo no interest financing..
  3. exactly - that polaroid is bad news ... low quality simply put. don't be suckered in just because it says 1080p for a low price. Whatever HDTV you're looking for, be SURE to check out the contrast ratio as well as resolution. Actually I believe it was cnet.com or another review site that states contrast is MORE important than resolution. This makes sense if you think about it ... having a res 10x better than a comparable model doesn't help if you can't tell the difference between dark blacks/greys/whites etc. Simple matter of quality of quantity. I posted this above a few times - i didnt realize when you post a reply is goes to a main page, so i was trying to respond to a few individuals and ended up posting the whole msg board. Anyway, Sears has the best deal I've seen in months on the Panasonic TH42PZ77U 42" plasma 1080p, 10,000:1 contrast for 1199.00. Can anyone find a better deal on this quality tv??? I think I also mentioned this is not a BF sale - it is only good through the 17th.

Whatever HDTV you're looking for, be SURE to check out the contrast ratio as well as resolution. Actually I believe it was cnet.com or another review site that states contrast is MORE important than resolution. This makes sense if you think about it ... having a res 5x better than a comparable model doesn't help if you can't tell the difference between dark blacks/greys/whites etc.
  5. sears pan. th42pz77u plasma 42" 1080p 1199 through the 17 ... best deal you'll find
  6. 42" 1080p plasma (panasonic) at sears for 1199.00 through the 17 ... best price you'll find ... better than circuit city etc.
  7. Sears has Panasonic 42" 1080p plasma for 1199.00 that is good through the 17th. You can also save 150 on top of that if you use a Sears card or finance for 18 months interest free (it's either use your card or sign up for one). The lady also told me she would match any black friday price with their 110% 30 day price match guarantee ... I have been searching for months for this quality tv at this price, you won't find a better deal ... (with a slighty possibility on bf)
  8. One more note - if you're going to spend 1-2K on this sort of technology, I highly suggest plasma, then LCD. I do not recommend any type of projection ... I honestly can't imagine any sales associate that would disagree ... go plasma, the quality is infinitely better.
  9. I have been searching for months for a great 42-50" plasma 1080p tv. I finally purchased a Panasonic TH-42PZ77U for 1199.00 at Sears. Actually I originally purchased it at Circuit City for 1350 - However they refuse to match black friday sales ads (and Sears is obviously cheaper). The sale for this specific tv is good through the 17th I believe. You will have trouble finding this good of a deal on the 50" for some reason. Nobody seems to know why the 42" is so readily available for so cheap while the 50" remains a little higher (relatively speaking). Anyway, if you can sacrifice for the 42" - Sears is the cheapest you'll find for now. The picture is amazing (contrast ratio, sound, etc) - well worth it. As I said the lady at Sears guaranteed to match any black friday ad, so I assume this would have to be company policy. My suggestion is to get the tv you want BEFORE black friday and then search like crazy for the best deal ... then have Sears (or wherever you purchase it) match that price. As for which is best etc - look for a high contrast ratio (10,000:1), multiple HDMI ports, and of course resolution. I insisted on 1080p although you will not find that quality picture broadcasted yet. I just don't see the point in investing in a technology that will be outdated within a year or so. Hope this brief misc rambling helps and goodluck. Let me know if I can help with anything else... If anyone finds a better deal on a 1080 plasma PLEASE let me know!!
