  1. I was wondering when the hard copies of the black friday ads come out....I am going to attempt to price match at some stores and know that I'll need hard copies of the ads for proof of the prices. Any ideas? Oh, by the way, I live in New Hampshire, if that will help.

Hey, I'm in NH too. Howdy neighbor! :D Where will you be shopping this year?

I always buy the Wednesday paper (for Kmart's Thanksgiving ad!), and the Thanksgiving paper :yup:

  2. I'm still excited to go moreso because it's an annual tradition with my SIL, not because there are any eye popping deals. I do have some things on my list, but nothing that I would stand all night to get. Although I just read an article on MSN that Target is slashing prices to compete more evenly with Walmart, so there might be hope for us yet on some special secret deals!
  3. Joining this thread. We have a 52" projection HDTV downstairs in the family room, but I'm getting tired of looking at the 10 year old 27" tv we have upstairs in the living room and not seeing the edges of the tv because it's not widescreen. :) I'm looking for a 32-42" HDTV, although not sure if LCD or plasma is the way to go. The living room has a huge bay window (that let's in alot of light, especially in the afternoon), and the couches are about 5-10 feet away from the tv. Any suggestions?
  4. SIL comes over Tgiving night and we compare notes and go through our ads. We have a notebook with one page dedicated to each store and list what we're getting at each store. Then we compare lists and prioritize the stores from there. We stay up all night then go to our first store around 2AM (or whenever we can't wait anymore because we're so excited!).When we're done shopping (usually around 11AM), we go to a Chinese buffet for lunch, then go home, crash for a few hours, get up and start putting Christmas decorations up! We both LIVE for this day, since usually her kids dominate anything we ever do together.
  5. For DD7 and DD10, the biggest miss was Squawkers Macaw (From a grandparent. I knew better.) whose novelty quickly wore off.

Ugh, my SIL bought this for my niece last year...and by the end of the day on BF driving around hearing the stupid thing talk I wanted to smash it into a thousand pieces. Luckily her girls are really rough on their toys, so it didn't last long :D

  6. Oh, I have a list a mile long, but here are my top pet peeves:

-Line jumpers/cutters, especially if I've been standing in line in the freezing cold for 3 hours

-Slow walkers. Seriously people, 5AM at Walmart on BF is NOT the time to dillydally

-People who stand in the middle of the aisles chatting when people are trying to get by.

    -Rude people

-Disorganized stores. WHY would I ever suspect DVD's are in the women's underwear section?

That is all, for now. However, every BF I add a few more pet peeves to the list

  7. I usually get a couple of things for myself, but my main goal is to finish my Christmas shopping for DH, parents, nieces/nephew, and little cousins. I usually get about 90% done on BF, so I don't feel bad if I get myself some gifts :) Especially if it's something I really want for Christmas and there's a great deal on BF...DH works in retail so he never gets to enjoy the BF sales.
  8. I've seen people out waiting in line at 3am with babies...I'm talking newborns to 3 year olds. Personally, I think it's selfish to put your kid through that just to get some deals. Besides the fact that it gets crazy at stores, alot of parents are concentrating so hard on getting what they want they're not paying attention to their kids.

That said, I have seen older kids (10 and up) that are a huge help to their parents. Ultimately, you know what your kid can handle.

  9. I went tonight and got Guitar Hero III (the last one!), Mario Galaxy, and Word Coach. I'm hoping to exchange Word Coach when they get more games in. I have a question though- what is this coupon everyone is talking about for spending over $75? I looked on the TRU site and couldn't find anything.
