  1. You know what? I never even got most of my sale ads! I say sleep in. No good sales. I'm so disappointed. I waited all year for this. I think WalMarts Ad despressed me!
  2. I'm sleeping in. I can't find anything I want. What a let down. All I wanted was a portable DVD player. Plus most of my hard copy ads never arrived!!! My Target one is different than the one on this site... That 84" one isn't even in it!
  3. Wal-Marts ads is embarrassing. Target is going to be packed or would be if I had got my doorbuster ad. I'm so mad!
  4. My paper was missing the door buster sales. That 84" portable DVD player wasn't in there at all....
  5. At the local target there are about 15 people in line at 4am last year one of the employees said.
  6. My mother is getting it for me for Christmas. I will buy the warrenty myself. I checked the website and made some calls. It is ONLY availible in stores and there is a restocking charge of 15% for returned items. So buying and returning isn't really an option. So basically your going to have to drive and wait in line if you want it.
  7. See you at Target. It looks like Target will be the Queen of this BF. WalMart isn't even playing the same game anymore! Its sad. Its like they just gave up. Maybe WalMart needs some therapy. That ad looked depressing to me! Do you think since WalMart's ad is so sucky I should go earlier to Target. Their ad is better so do you think there will be more more people this year?
  8. It seems to me WalMart is boycotting itself. Looking at the AD just post.... It almost looks like WalMart is going through a bit of self-loathing or depression or something. I know I got depressed look at that ad....
  9. Thats the store where you take someone with you to stand in line while you go grab your stuff. Sears is bad about their cashregisters going down.... I wonder why Kohls lines are so slow?
  10. In Florence AL you don't have to line-up... You could get there 10 minutes late and there would be the same amount of people. No one goes to Kmart here. They never have what they advertised. They always say they never got them. Unlike Target they NEVER mark down other items or take rainchecks. Its a big waste of time.
  11. I'm going to Northern AL. Florence actually. I'm wondering the same thing. How mad do you think people will get if I have someone hold my place while I run to Kohls and Sears?
  12. I'm actually getting a hotel room where the local traget BB sears and stuff are. I'm not driving 2 hours. I've never gone to Target before. Most Wal-Mart but I'm want the 10" too....
  13. My mother was one of those thrying to get a cabbage patch doll for my sister. She got one but 2 weeks later she went back to the store and found on with my sister's name so she had to take it back. My sister has a carebear I always thought was actually a carbear. Turns out my mom made it from scratch cuz she couldn't get one that year and its all she kept asking for. She said my sister wrote Santa 7 times that year asking for one. I still can't believe she spent so much time making that stupid bear. But that my mom. Whatever it took. My sister still has it and it held up better than a real one.
  14. From what I can tell that ad says its a portable DVD player KIT. I'm not sure it has the DVD player with it. Just the case, remote, ear buds and car adapter. I know the picture has a player in it but the text and title suggest it actually doesn't
  15. I'm not kidding this really did happen! My first black friday shopping experience at age 8 was definately black for me. I realized my mom fights dirty. Expecially with her friends with her. She teamed up with Michelle's mom down the street at Walmart. Michelle was 6. No babysitter so here we go. First mom spotted a parking space over in another lane she wanted michelle's mom jumped out of the cars and stood in the space so no one could get until we got there. Some other people had someone with them who didn't actually need to buy anything so he opened the pallettes to see what was in it. Once what michelle's mom wanted was found my mom precceeded to rip the paper off so michelle's mom could get to it easily. As a result she couldn't get one. She never wanted one in the first place. Then michelle and I were put in a safe spot. Once my mom and her friend had what they wanted they went to the check out where this big lady wasn't paying attention so they broke line. Michelle's mom was all "you snooze you lose." So we get to the next store and its already open and mom can't get any Barbies that she wants so they are about to leave when she spots a woman with 6 in her cart. Michelle's mom destracts the woman by running up to her and asking if she had seen her daughter. Meanwhile mom takes 2 of her Barbies while she isn't looking. Michelle and I are totally confused cuz we had no idea we were lost. But it gave mom time to get what she wanted. This was the year that Holiday Barbie had a defect or something and everyone wanted one. Michelle found one but her mom already had one for her. So Michelle gave it to another little girl who wanted it. As the girl walked off to show her mom a woman came up and knocked the girl into a shelf to get the doll. She didn't get it. She broke that little girls arm for it. Her mom went off! I got to talk to a police officer! I thought I was big stuff! My mom works in a sewing factory and 3 years later that woman she took the Barbies from came to work for her. For weeks she kept saying she knew my mom from somewhere. Ofcourse mom wasn't going to tell her where and everyone knew because she had told them. One day the woman jumps up and yells, "I know who you are. You stole my Barbie. I had 6, one for all my grandkids. I was going to get them all the samething and you ruined it!!!" LOL Ofcourse everyone laughed cuz they knew it was true. Mom said she had never been so embarrassed. I've been hooked to Black Friday shopping since then. Michelle however will NOT go shopping on that day. Anybody got a good black friday story?
  16. LOL Your on! Its going to be BYOM^. Bring Your Own Make-Up. We don't share. Thats gross.
  17. Man I do wish I had an iPhone or Ipod touch. But I think the portable DVD player will work well. I can't just stand for hours. I have ADHD and Christy is 13. If we try to just stand there we will get very bored. Someone could get hurt.... Well maybe not hurt but annoyed atleast.
  18. I know we have a thread on what to take with you but what about what you do to pass the time waiting for the store to open? Do you talk on your cell phone? Watch a movie on a portable DVD player? Read? Talk to other people or can you just stand and wait? Personally Christy & I eat our breakfest, do our make-up, confirm our plan 50 million times, talk to people in line, and watch a portable DVD player if I feel safe enough. Magazines are great but you have to have light to read. And while you need one for make-up it only takes like 30 mins to do it.... I had back surgery earlier this year so I will have a chair to sit in!
  19. Homemade toys aren't for everyone but like I said where I live their are a lot of people who aren't buying from stores. ALOT! Parents HERE, as in my geographical location, (BTW is wrong on that map) are getting sick of "their kids being inside all the time and zoning out infront of the TV." I'm not saying its ALL parents are like that or even thats the way it should be. I'm just saying thats the way it is with most parents I know. Personally I think that if kids don't learn computer skills they are going to be seriously deprived. It may not but Walmart and Macy's and ToysRUs's fault there are recalls but it IS affecting there business. No one can denie that. All I'm saying is that retailers need to chill and recognize that sites like these are doing them a big favor! Also I already said it was an exaggeration to prove a point and I never meant to upset anyone or start a fight. The recalls on food and toys WILL affect the sales on BF. They are already affecting sales at my local retailers.
  20. Ok so that an exaggeration but... You know these retailers aren't doing themselves any favors. With all the toy recalls they are going to be lucky to sale any toys. I know A LOT of grand-parents and parents who aren't buying toys this year from stores. They are having people make them. I live near the Amish and they said they have a lot of requests for tricycles, swings, wooden toys, and just about anything that the Amish can make because they know the Amish won't put anything dangerous in there. Lots of requests for play houses too. They are expensive but they last forever and they are better than what you get at the store. Plus you can always add to them. Chairs, cribs for dolls, tables, small beds, and one man even makes stoves and refridgerators. They don't work ofcourse. My points is people have other options besides stores. People are getting creative to save their childrens health. Walmart, macy's, and others would do well to realize that the free publicity on this site may save there bussiness. Now I know most people don't live here but there are still options. Craftsmen live all over the US. I love BF and I don't want to see anything happen, like say people stop shopping, to ruin it. Its not just toys either. With all the food recalls we are sending homemade perserves and candy to people for Christmas.
  21. This will be a long post. Christy & I attack this like we are BF navy seals. We plan everything. We've gone together for 4 years. Yup since she was 9 yrs old. Let me tell you she is like Puss in Boots. Cute as can be but she WILL get want she wants. I have a fleece shirt with zipper pockets. BIG zipper pockets. My keys are attached to my belt loop on my pockets. With a spare set of keys attached to Christy (my 13 yr old cousin). She has her hoody on with pockets but no zipper so she carries food non-important inexpensive things. She also stashes our hats, extra gloves with fingers in them, and scarves once she has room and we put them back on once we are outside the store. We have gloves without fingers in them we keep our money in. We have 2 hunting chairs that fold up and hand warmers. Plus these blanket/coat wraps things for waiting in line. I'm not sure if this year we are taking the portable DVD player since no guys will be with us. You can never be too careful. We do our make-up in line cuz we get bored. Then Christy goes and put the make-up cases in the car. We do pretty much anything to fill the time. I’m ADHD and shes 13. We need to be amused or someone could get hurt! Also one thing no one else mentioned is a small garbage bag for candy wrappers, empty drinks, and stuff. I hate having nowhere to put that stuff. 20 minutes before the doors open, Christy runs to the truck to put away the blacketcoats, chairs, trash and anything else we don't need. Then on us is our clothers debit card, cash in the gloves, ads, shopping list, and cell phones. Also have have our angel tree kids that we get early for inspiration. We put our cell phones on a chain on viberate around our neck inside our shirt. We never call unless we HAVE to. Like someone is hurt or took one of our items. Keys on our belt loops. We are going to take some hot chocolate with ginger in it to settle our stomacs. Now as for comunication. You can’t use 2 way radios here cuz everyone has them and it gets confusing. All channels are full. Trying to answer a cell phone while shopping is BF suicide. Plan for inside the store. We NEVER use carts unless we have to. We use basket if need be. If we have to use a cart someone will get in line with the cart. We don’t like to use the cart because it takes longer. Our adverage per store if we are there when it opens is 4 minutes. Seriously we time it. Our best so far is 2 minutes and 24 seconds. Is this post too long and involved cuz I can't help it?! We wait all year for this!
  22. Hmmm is it "against the rules" to have someone stand in line for you while you go to other stores. There is something at target I HAVE to get. But I need to go to a 4am and 5 am sale for my Angel Tree kids. I'm thinking of having a person stand in line for me at Target. I hate to say it but if it comes down to my family getting what they want for christmas and getting good deal for my angel tree kids I'm going to make my family happy.
  23. I'm looking for one too. My cousin has one that has lasted for 2 years. I work for Movie Gallery so its my JOB to watch movies and a portable DVD player would help.
  24. I don't know where this goes but the Ace Hardware shopping list is missing the portable DVD player thats in the ad scan...
  25. Also I've got quite a few family and friends who will be going the same place I will and we all have a ways to drive. We are talking about getting a hotell room and splitting the cost. It might be worth it.
