  1. thankyou thankyou for the heads up on the navigon at office depot. i went to two radioshacks.. the first one had closed down. the second one had 0 navigon units for the sale, and checked their computer for how many the others had. 0, 1, 2, and 0 for the 4 closest ones. so youd literally have to be the first one in there early in the morning to have a chance. the fact that several of their local stores had 0 i find completely ridiculous, but oh well. come home at 8:30 pm, see the office depot sale, get there at 8:55, got it! only difference is it will take 2+ months to get my traffic stuff, but thats ok. used it on the way home, seems very nice. keypad is small, but unless you get a larger unit I guess its going to be. everything else seemed really good, im glad i didnt have to settle for one that didnt read the names, that seems like a very good feature. unfortunately they only had one in stock, so i couldnt get one for a friend who wanted one, but oh well =p im terrible with directions so this will be great in combination with the 1-800-GOOG-411 service.
  2. so 30 minutes until wednesday and we still dont have fry's black friday ad.... I see it took till the last minute last year too. ill just assume its not very good.
  3. anyone aware of any good deals on a tablet pc? it seems like they never are included in any of these sales. i use a wacom tablet on my desktop pc all the time, having a tablet laptop would be great. but I never see any on good sales.
  4. why havnt we seen fry's yet?
  5. 2006 was the first black friday i did any significant shopping, but it was great. The overnight wait was fine, listened to my ipod, played my psp, played some chess with some fellow waiters... Got the 32" westinghouse lcd for 480 dollars, two 22" westinghouse lcd monitors (which double as hdtvs with component imputs), and then a bunch fo smaller tihngs like memory and gifts and such. but the tvs and monitors were fantastic deals. nothing like that this year. a year later and cheaper versions of worse brands with less features are the same price for the monitors. this year all i know im getting is a gps unit at one of the 20 stores that have decent deals on them, and probably going to extend my phone contract and get a new phone. plus small gifts. still waiting on fry's to have a miraculous laptop deal, but thats doubtful.
  6. ive never purchased a laptop, always just used desktop, so i have a question.. how does the ram upgrading work? is it just one slot? on the website it says the max it can use is 2 gb. So if i buy a 2gb stick thats on sale for 55 dollars at best buy, is the 1gb of ram it comes with just removed and useless to me? or multiple so i can just buy a 1 gb and add it in? for the vaio that is.
