Thanks Brad! This is probably one of the best ads I've seen, and I'm loving that Bealls sent it directly. (Hey, Stein Mart, are you paying attention!?)
Hope I have money left over for the palm tree. I've kinda wanted one of those for awhile. (What? Me, a stereotypical Floridian? )

That GPS is $219.99 on Staples.com right now, so it should be $119.99 on BF.

I haven't shopped at Kohl's on BF in the past. Are these mail-in rebates the norm for Kohl's? Seems like a big pain to me.

Well, this is definitely a much better ad than Sears' was, which is odd when you think about it. Nice to see!

I wonder if this would work with other types of nuts? Almonds?
This sounds like the nuts we get at the fair! I want to make this one for sure. Thanks for posting it!
I don't see why it wouldn't, though you probably won't want to cook it as long with almonds.

Sugar Spice Nuts
1 lb pecans
1 cup sugar
1 egg white
3/4 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tbsp water
Beat the egg white and water in a large bowl until frothy. Stir in the sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Mix well. Add the pecans and mix well. Try and get all of the pecans coated. Spread the pecans in a single layer onto a baking sheet. (I recommend using disposable baking sheets on top of your normal sheets; this stuff is murder to clean.)
Bake at 200 degrees F for 45 minutes. Remove and stir every 15 minutes. When done, stir again, allow to cool for a few minutes and then transfer to a bowl. Don't let them completely harden on the baking sheet or you'll have a rather difficult time getting them off.
Enjoy!

Maybe I'm just getting used to sale prices, but this ad has me a bit underwhelmed, at least with the clothes. It doesn't seem like there's anything groundbreaking. It does, however seem like all of the normal sales rolled into one weekend.
The electronics, on the other hand, seem like some pretty good deals. Can't wait to compare them.
And nice to see the ads coming out at last!

Target and Home Depot

My stepladder and $30 7' Christmas tree from Home Depot last year, and my 4-piece Ryobi power tool set from Home Depot two years ago.

Note to self: Do not complain about the record highs we had here in Florida on Thursday. I'd rather have heat than snow for BF!

I'm not sure if I'm going to be in Tallahassee or Jacksonville this year.

I vow to spend more money on presents for others than presents for myself.

My best Black Friday experiences have always been at Home Depot. Two years ago, in Jacksonville, they had coffee for the ten or so of us waiting at the entrance at 5:30, and were very helpful and pleasant when the doors opened. A great contrast to the organized chaos of Circuit City. Last year, I was in Kennesaw for Thanksgiving, and didn't make the doorbusters anywhere, but Home Depot still had plenty of everything at 3:00 in the afternoon. And again, they were by far the nicest and most helpful employees of any of the stores I've been to on BF.

AAAARGH!
Please open a store in Florida, HPB!

I love my Garmin nuvi 260; not sure if they're still making them. Great little GPS.
-
Great to hear! Maybe they're going to try and take over some of the electronics deals that we might not get without Circuit City.

Wonder when the sales will start! I have a few in my area - I usually don't shop there (as appears would be the case for many people) but I will put them into my rounds to watch what the sales look like and what goodies I can grab at a good deal!! Maybe a great Ipod deal!!! That would be fab!!
CNN Money says the sales start tomorrow. I'd give it a couple weeks before there are actual deals to be had.

This isn't entirely surprising, but it's still really unfortunate, especially for the employees. And I always liked CC better than BB.

Oh, this figures. I have an exam this afternoon. I just know they're going to have the BoC then.

Police were reviewing video from surveillance cameras in an attempt to identify who trampled to death a Wal-Mart worker after a crowd of post-Thanksgiving shoppers burst through the doors at a suburban store and knocked him down.
Criminal charges were possible, but identifying individual shoppers in Friday's video may prove difficult, said Detective Lt. Michael Fleming, a Nassau County police spokesman.
Other workers were trampled as they tried to rescue the man, and customers stepped over him and became irate when officials said the store was closing because of the death, police and witnesses said.

No news about whether or not Wal-Mart is going to be charged as well, but at least the police are trying to figure out just who trampled this poor man to death.

Thanks very much to everyone who posted these deals!

Once again, Home Depot was the highlight of my trip. I was quite annoyed since my ad had some different prices from the leaked ad, but when I got to the store, all the prices were what I had been planning for, including the $49 tree (huzzah!). The employees were great, there was tons of everything, no chaos at all, and free coffee!

Any news on NewEgg or TigerDirect? They're the last two I'm hopin' to see.

Curses. I'll be near an IKEA this year, but I'd have to go all the way down into Atlanta proper, and I don't think the ad is good enough to warrant that. Nice to see someone other than Sam's Club offer a free breakfast, though.
