  1. The return policy is always extended at Christmas. I also believe that their return policy is 7 days if you don't like the game or 30 days to exchange it for another of the same game if it doesn't work correctly. We buy most of our games used from Gamestop and only once have had a problem.
  2. Doesn't it feel good to finally make a decision? Enjoy your camera!
  3. Thank you! I appreciate the info. I looked through the ads today but no extremely great deals yet.
  4. I guess you have to decide if, for you, the extra lens and bag, etc is worth the $200 + tax price difference from the Amazon price plus lining up Thanksgiving night at Best Buy. If you're already going to be there and want that lens go for it! I personally chose to buy the amazon deal because this is my first DSLR, our tax here is very high (it would be an extra $60), and I don't know if I'll really need the extra lens- or if it is that good- in the long run. As Longhorn Mama said, you may decide to upgrade to a better lens down the road which will usually put you out more than the camera cost in the first place. Plus, Best Buy scares me on Black Friday! The only product I've ever really needed the extended warranty on is my laptop due to the battery failing twice and having to replace the hard drive. Again, personal decision though Consumer Reports says that they usually aren't a good idea. I've been looking for a good deal on this camera for awhile, I'm just hoping I got one!
  5. A question regarding Compact Flash cards. I'm definitely going with the extreme III but is it worth it to buy 2Gb vs. 1Gb? Has anyone looked for good deals on them? Thanks, Nicole
  6. Here's a link to CNet's DSLR buying guide. They give you information on just about anything you want to look for in a DSLR plus reviews and top picks. Its a good place to start if you have questions: CNet editors' Digital SLR buying guide http://reviews.cnet.com/4520-7603_7-6241014-1.html?tag=dir
  7. Yea, I can post links now! Here's a link to the guide: CNet Quick Guide to Prepaid Cell Phone Plans
  8. My daughter and I have had T-mobile for a few months now and it works great. I started off with the $100 card for me because I knew that I would end up needing it so my minutes last a year. During tennis season she called me a lot so I had to refill her phone a few times and ended up just getting her the $100 card too. A good way to compare companies is to go to CNet.com, go to reviews and cell phones then find their cell phone buying guide. There is a link to "prepaid cell phone plans" in the choosing a plan section. I wish I could give you a link but I'm apparently too new a member here! Anyway, they compare all of the prepaid plans with pros and cons and show their charges, etc. I was leery about Tracphone because it is a Latin American company. Besides, T-mobile just seemed to have the best plan for us. No daily fee and minutes that would last a year. So far so good! Good luck, Nicole
  9. If you're interested in the 8 mega-pixel Rebel XT then go with the Amazon.com deal that's available now. Like I said in my above post, CNet.com rates it higher than the 10 mega-pixel XTi, its cheaper by a few hundred dollars, AND you don't have to fight the crowds.
  10. If anyone is looking for a good deal on the Canon Rebel XT digital camera, Amazon.com has it for $499.98 with free shipping. :) That beats Best Buy's BF deal at $549 plus you don't have to pay tax with amazon. You also get a free camera strap if you look further down the page. I've been looking for a good deal on this camera for awhile and was leery to buy it from an unknown dealer on the internet. CNet.com rates this camera VERY highly, even better than the XTi which is supposed to be its predecessor. Circuit City has a decent price on it through today plus 10% off and a free printer to boot, but I didn't need the printer and wanted to save the extra money. Just wanted to give you a heads up! Happy picture taking, Nicole
